Hey everyone,
I'm starting up my Dark Eldar again very soon and this is the paint scheme I have decided to go with.
I know it's not particularly good, Painting skin was a horrific experience and at some point lots of black just appeared on her arm and gah. But I at least hope it looks like tabletop standard.
I've decided to go with pink and black for the colour scheme, with yellow for poison and blue for any drugs.
The model btw, in case anyone wondered, was a hellion with a wych head. The weapon is the hellion's glaive with the blades cut off and replaced with the blade of a wych flail and a chariot of slannesh whip. In the game she will be a beastmistress- or maybe a slavemistress which will follow the same rules but will not have beasts? I don't know.

Heyy.
No In the picture it is a ungor flesh, I have since drybrushed some eldar flesh on top of that to make it a little paler, but it still retains the slightly grimy look.

Well I'm not particularly good at highlighting or shading or any of that stuff xD. I don't know how some people can be so steady with their brushes!!!
So yeah I've tried to play to my strengths with just drybrushing or layers with a wash or two thrown in. It's how I paint my Eldar and I'm happy enough with them. Plus my main colour for Eldar is yellow and I've heard that it's hard to work with, does that give me extra points?

Only get extra points if the yellow is over a black basecoat

Since your primary colour with these guys is black, try photographing against a plain white piece of paper, or bristol board if you can afford it. It'll make it easier for your camera to focus on what you want, especially when shooting up close

Also I just always thought that trying to paint yellow on black would be really difficult... I base white, paint yellow, then wash black and it's pretty much the same effect minus all the hassle xD

Another question for you all, my Archon. I gave up trying to scratch build with old bits so I had an idea. Plastic Archon legs, kabalite warrior torso, cloak of a dark elf shadowblade, fleshhook spear from the raider sprue and a splinter pistol form a kabalite. warrior.
Which raises a question, do people think the shadowblade cape will be an easy 'fit' to a dark-eldar torso because I'm not particularly skilled with conversions xD

With DE I always try to make them dark, evil, dark tone.....well just dark like their Underworld Mafia type. Though the DE army is my wife (Kabal of Lorra) its a continuous process
