I just bought my copy. I noticed it said 1-4 player co-op, and thats what convinced me to pull the trigger.

Plus, ya know, plastic assassins.

Check out my Deadzone/40k/necromunda blog here!

If anyone was feeling put out that the Assassin's dataslate had been replaced by free WD rules, I've just recieved an e-mail from GW stating that you can reload an updated dataslate.

Should save some from having to buy the WD?

Hmmmm, both of the independent retailers that I use have this up for pre-order but with no discount. Would such a matter be under direct advice from GW?

I was ready to buy it at 20% off, but £75 may be a bit rich for me (again apologies to those in the ROTW to whom this may seem like a humble price brag).

Also are both the assassins and CSM appear to be on 32mm.

Dark Sphere have it up for their usual 25% discount, and despite the state of their website they're always reliable when it comes to delivery.

Good spot Idespair, thank you for that. Dark Sphere have always been good to me when using them in the past.

The two FLGS's that I usually frequent have them at their usual discounts, and AFAIK, they are regular trade prices -- though might be limited allocations for the first week.

Maybe it is just a move by the two companies in question to deter ebay scalpers, so it seems that GW have not imposed any price restrictions on this.

Had I not been thick and half asleep I would have remembered already seeing a number of Australian sites with discounts.

The just released halo battle fleet game is up for £64. Packed full of minitures, 49 in all!
But that's not why I'm not buying this, we know GW are expensive. This game was not what I was after from GW I was looking more for an inquisitor or necrumunda type with multiple missions and and settings. This is a one trick pony with a single setting and mission. I would be bored of it in a month.

Big pass for me as it seems like there is only one scenario [even if it is split into multiple missions], plus the price for what you get in the box makes me far more inclined to spend my money elsewhere. A Necromunda/Blood Bowl repack? Would be all over that like a tramp on chips.

I'll be picking this up at discount I think.

The models and One player sells it to me (unfortunately ).

No idea, I never bought the Dataslate. It was just mentioned in the Digital Editions e-mail I received.

I was on the fence, kind of hoping for some new chaos models. The new assassins look great and I'm sure the game is tons of fun though.

Reading the White Dwarf just now, this game sounds like a lot of fun! I like how the Eversor can screw gak up by alerting everyone when he goes nuts lol.

I caved and bought it from Dark Sphere. £75 = way too much. £56 = dead reasonable.

Eight quid for delivery though. Unless it's close enough for you to collect, that is. I went with GW because when I ordered Space Hulk from them I got a sweet print with it, so vaguely hoping for some freebies. Plus I wanted to mail order the white dwarf anyway so that would've been like £6... add that to the £65ish with delivery from third parties and it basically stopped being worth it

I love the idea of "Achievements" there. It adds another element of replay if you just keep pulling new people into playing it.

It helped ease the wallet pain a bit of buying straight from GW, And while no discount, you got the print and free shipping. With just a tiny bit of trimming, I got the print framed nicely, and it hangs by my hobby work table now.

I'm really into board games (currently XCOM the board game and Pandemic: On the Brink are the two I'm frequenting).

I've not managed to find out much about this game. It looks pretty with the models and tiles to play on - does anyone know about the rules of play?

I'm ignoring the cost (which is typically high for GW) as I'm likely able to get it elsewhere for less - I'm more interested in if it's an actual challenge and a tactical game that requires skill!

Judging from the lmited gameplay and rules from the White Drawf. I would say this game relies more on luck (dice rolling, ramdon event cards, random room cards) than skills placement of models, taking calcualted risk.

The game rules seem to be in paralle with Wizards of the Coasts's D&D boardgames, Castle of ravenloft etc.

I might jump into this game as well for the 40K setting and models, and I like to support GW for making standalone games as I can't afford its warhammer gaming anymore.

I sure that there will some defence of the price, people comparing it to FFG games and their high cost. The thing is though, they aren't stand alone systems. Ok you pay a high price for a starter set, but that's the key word "starter". You're not paying for a a one off, that's it system, they are expandable and if it's you're thing, there are tournies as well.

Slightly OT, but in the same vein, I saw a copy of Dreadfleet being played at the weekend. First time I'd ever seen it. What an amazing play mat. Can't understand why GW didn't sell these on their own.

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

Wasn't aware you could get WD from third parties. That's interesting. Still, £64, rather than £75, and rather than £56. Always good to be clear with the numbers, don't want to mislead people.

£75 seems excessive for a game this size. agree if it was £40-£50 it would be a little easier to swallow. Again though -WHY LIMITED EDITION???? Remember when you could go into GW and browse boardgames?

The boardgame industry works largely on word of mouth; you go to a gameing club or friends house, you play a game you really enjoy and then you go out and buy it for yourself. Again another limited edition box aimed at making a quick buck; will never be supported with new modules or add-ons. Such a shame they don't just let Fantasy Flight handle this stuff now...

This one disappointed me.

Price is high, but that is like saying water is wet where GW is concerned, I just feel the whole thing is underwhelming.
Old chaos models that you can get for peanuts on ebay from the dark vengeance boxes, and some assassins that are just, to me, not that good at all.
Certainly not models that are 'have to have' anyway.
It may be a good game, but the problem here is that their track record means I won't give the benefit of the doubt, and by the time reviews appear and tell me if it is any good or not, I probably wont be able to get the thing anyway.

GW marketing, it seems to exist only to shoot itself in its own foot.

The joke is GW has no marketing as far as people will buy what we make.

Just pre-ordered off Dark Sphere for 56.25 for the game and 3.80 for delivery; which is very reasonable for DS.

Looking forward to getting my hands on the new Assassins, I also need more Cultist to get my Chaos army up and running so happy days. Oh and a new game to play with my Nephews, can't forget that.
