Blood-Drenched Death Company Marine

Little Rock, Arkansas

A set of the lists I've made for the 7th ed. BA codex.
So far, I've only gotten to play number 6 3 times (won 2/3) and number 4 once (also won.)
Have fun reading!

Single detachment, max of one ally or formation added in.

1.[themed 1850 - Death company list]

Baal Strike force
-Astorath as warlord
-Lemartes
-3 units of 15 death company with packs. Each unit has 12 plain jane, 2 pswords, and 1 pfist.
-Raphen's Death Co. as troop
-Cassor the Damned as troop

1845

Strat: Uh... they're DC. Charge. Have Asty and Lemmy zig zag between squads as they dwindle to ensure they get to combat.
Complaints: Cassor has to walk, but MAYBE he can survive if the rest of the army is all charging in front of him. I also think Raphen's company is too heavy on wargear with not enough bodies, but in a themed DC list requiring two troops? Gotta have em. Also, you just kinda have to ignore flyers and kill the opponent's ground army and take objectives while making angry gestures at the flyers.

2.[2000 Flesh Tearers jump list]

Flesh Tearers detachment

-Dante on loan from the BA as warlord.
-2 units of Sanguinary priests, both with jump packs.
-11 jump pack Death Company, 1 sword, 1 fist.
-2 units of 8 sanguinary guard, 5 swords, 3 axes.
-5 scouts with 4 sniper rifles, and one guy who was too poor for one.
-5 units of 5 jump pack assault marines, each with 2 meltaguns.
-10 jump pack assault marines, 2 plasma pistols, vet sarge with power maul.

Strat: Priests go with the sanguinary guard, while Dante rides in either the DC squad or the big ASM squad, detaching and joining others as needed to make it to the enemy. Depending on enemy army, either run the full army up with jump packs or coordinate a massive deep strike with Dante's descent of angels. Alternatively, you can charge forward with the big tough squads while the little 5 man double melta squads DS in. No anti-air here other than rude gestures, so just slaughter everything on the ground and take the objectives. The scouts are just the troop tax, and can hide out of LOS if you want to do an "almost" null deployment for massive deep strike.

3.[2000 Drop pod spam]

Baal Strike Force
-2 units of furioso librarians. Both ML2, snag heavy flamer over SB, and drop podded.
-4 units of furioso dreadnoughts. All 4 take frag cannon/melta gun and drop pods.
-Cassor the damned.
-4 units of 5 tactical marines. Each squad takes 1 heavy flamer and drop pod.
-2 units of 6 assault marines. Each squad takes 2 meltaguns and drop pod. Both sarges take combi-meltas
-One empty FA drop pod for Cassor to ride.

1999

Strat: 13 drop pods, so 7 on turn 1. If the enemy is in boxes, take the ASM, Cassor, and some fragiosos first. If they're out and about, take tacticals, the libby-noughts, and a fragioso. If they're mixed, use normal tactics (identify biggest threats, take what kills them first.) Don't forget to fire your 13 storm bolters. Hopefully you can either find or de-box some non-fearless units for the libbies to use fear of the darkness, if they get it. Fragiosos were given meltas instead of heavy flamers because of the already-high amount of flamers. They needed to be switch hitters, and frag cannons CAN hurt heavy armor. Bonus points if shooting an open-topped transport. Killing dudes inside and THEN blowing up the car is always fun.
Complaints: More competitive than most of the lists just by virtue of being a null deployment pod list, but still has "ignore" as it's highest AA defense. Also pod-spam against less competitive armies and players is extremely one-sided. (As in, with the previous codex, I was able to win games losing only a couple marines here and there with similar lists.)

4. [2000 Strike force Invulnerable]

Baal Strike Force

-Gabriel Seth as LOW
-Brother Corbulo
-Sanguinary priest with bolt pistol/valour's edge as warlord.
-5 jump pack death company with 1 psword.
-3 units of 10 CCW/bp scouts. Each has a vet sarge with power maul. (I like mauls, xeno heavy meta, but obviously exchangable.)
-Land raider crusader
-2x Land raider redeemer.
-Allied knight paladin

1996

Strat: set down 4 really big things and hide some jump DC behind one. Each IC takes a unit of scouts in a land raider. Seth's squad will be ws 3 s5 i5 on the charge, priest's will be ws 4 on the normal guys, 5 on the vet, and Corb's will be the same, but i6 on the charge. Try to run Corb's unit near Seth's, so that he can up the ws of Seth's squad with his 6' bubble. Ride up in your big boxes to a flank and start deconstructing their army with scout knives, and a few really big swords. Obviously good on armor saturation. Feel free to stay in the boxes for a while against hordes. The knight is a knight, so just have him do knightly things. If the enemy has long range anti tank capable of hurting LR's, put the knight in front to get a cover save, in true knightly fashion.
Complaints: More angry shouting at flyers. Not quite enough points to get veritas vitae on the priest. Suppose I could demote a scout sarge and confiscate his power weapon for it and some other 10 point upgrade. Obviously this is an edge list that folds if your opponent has really good anti armor, but could still put up a heck of a fight if he had to get close (ie pods) to do it.

5. [2000 Strike force Divine Intervention]

Baal Strike Force
-Cmdr Dante as LoW and warlord
-Sanguinary priest with angel's wing and bp/chainsword
-Sanguinary priest with jump pack and bp/power sword
-2 units of 7 jumper death co. Each is 5 plain, 1 psword, 1 pfist.
-9 sanguinary guard. 3 axes, 6 swords. All with angelus bolters.
-5 scouts with camo cloaks, 4 sniper rifles, and a heavy bolter
-5 ccw/bp scouts
-2 units of 10 assault marines. Each has 2 meltaguns and vet sarge with power weapon (I went for axe and maul.)

Angel's Wrath intervention formation
-6 Vanguard veterans with jump packs
-2 units of 5 assault marines with 2 meltaguns each.

Strat: Dante goes with a 10 man ASM squad, a priest with the SG. use reserves or jump packing up field depending on opponent. (for shorter range armies like sisters or some necrons, jump up the field. For long range, just pull in the scouts and descent of angels all around them on turn 2.) The angel's wing priest joins the vanguard vets unit from the formation, giving them a 1d6 rerollable scatter to land, followed by the no scatter asm squads that cause a giant s4 area hit, followed by some meltas and bolt pistols.
Complaints: As usual, I just ignore flyers. I really wish I could take more than one priest per HQ slot. I typically ran 3 in addition to 2 other HQ's in the old book, and I have EIGHT of them in my collection, so it feels like they're going to waste now. Also troop tax in this list is annoying. Raphen would fit, but is just too durn 'spensive.

6. [2000 Armored strike force]

CAD
-Furioso libby ML2 w/ heavy flamer and drop pod as warlord.
-2 units of Furioso dreadnoughts with frag cannon/heavy flamer in drop pods.
-2 units of 5 tactical marines, 1 with heavy flamer, each in a razorback with heavy bolters.
-3 units of 5 assault marines, 2 with meltaguns, each in a rhino.
-2 units of predators with autocannon/sponson lascannon and OC engines
-1 Stormraven with multi-melta/assault cannon

Ally
-1 Knight paladin

Strat: 48 hull points and 25 dudes. I decided to go with a CAD for obsec on the tacticals and razors instead of the BSF for the +1 init on the charge, but that could be changed by taste with no change to the list. A general TAC list that can handle a little bit of flying, a good bit of armor, and hordes. This one ought to put up a fight against any opponent. The early frag cannons or psychic powers coming out of drop pods can help out with first blood or taking out early threats.
