Based on the army lists and mission shown, who will triumph?
The Space Marines' firepower and Land Raider Crusader are too much for the Orks (Space Marine Victory)
The forces look equally matched (draw)
The Orks' numbers and mobility allow them to control the game (Ork Victory)

This was a game I played against one of my regular opponents. We are both just getting back into the hobby for the first time since we were just yoofs playing 2nd and 3rd Editions (we've been battling as Space Marines vs. Orks ever since that 2nd Edition starter set)! I understand our armies are not ideal, but these are just the only models we have managed to paint so far. I hope you enjoy!

There are lots of pictures (and better quality than the ones posted here). We had a blast fighting this battle. I am so happy we got back into this hobby!

Any comments or criticisms on army selection, tactics, or painting are certainly welcome!

There is not this idea.

Some very nice pictures there. What are those sort of spiky tree things? Are they something you made, or bought?

And of course, nice to see a win for the Orks!

Thanks, I made the spiky trees from some weeds from the backyard. I cut off the tops, sprayed them with sealer and painted them. I thought they looked sufficiently strange and dangerous to represent the plant life of a harsh alien world.

Really like the arm shields on your Warboss. Also very cool with half red painted faces. - Would like to shamelessly try that out on some of my Nobs and Warbosses as well.

Thanks. The Warboss conversion was fun. My backstory for him is that he used to be a pit fighter so I wanted to capture that look. I just wish 'Eadwoppa's Killchoppa was a better weapon because he really looks more like he is armed with a very large choppa than a klaw, but the weak AP just makes it too puny for a Warboss's weapon. However, I justify it to myself and my opponents by comparing it to a chain fist: his weapon looks a lot more deadly than that so there should be no issue counting it as a a Power Klaw!

But that us the fun of friendly games: as long as the conversion looks good and appropriate and you use it the same way every time (so there's no confusion), everyone is cool with it and has fun.

I'm glad to hear that, Sanguinius, because my wife surprised me with a box of Mega Nobz for Christmas.

I plan to start painting them after I finish working on a ride for my 'Ard Boyz, Da Wreckin' Krew.
