My scratch built Vulture, TOOTHLESS.
It took me about 2 weeks to build it and about 12 hours of painting and detailing.
Sorry some of the pics are a bit blurry.
Enjoy.

Awesome purely for the fact it's toothless! The cutest dragon to ever live.

Looks a little chaotic for my tastes. Not sure if I'd be ok with you running that in a Guard army...
/Sarcasm.

A fun idea that you pulled off quite well. Any plans for other pop culture references?

Mmmmmmmmaybe!

I have painted one of my Vendys like Turok from Avatar. I even have Jake Suley sitting in the side door.

Figure wise I have Mr Nick Fury as my CO for my guard and Captain America as a squad leader and Red Skull as a commissar.

I will try to get some more pics of my army up soon.

Very impressive! I'm loving the red fin, a terrific reference.

The front side views are hard to see, but I made some detailing with dark gray to make the head spikes. You can see them better in person.

You say this is a scratchbuild, but I'm having a hard time seeing what you did. It looks sort of like a valkyrie kit with a huger-than-normal intake added in.

Do you have a picture of it before it was painted?

No, Unfortunately I didnt take any pics of the building process.
The only actual GW model parts are the two upper engines the front and back landing gear and the cockpit. Everything else is from scratch.
The wings and the tail fins are made from plastic cases we get router bits in at work, cut to the same size and shape of Vendy wings.
The larger engine is a couple of cups glued together with a collet from a hand router for the after burner.
The wing landing gear are from some disposable razors.
The tail booms are the glides from an old crib.
The armor on the wings my oldie but goodie favorite, packing strap from work. (Looks like steel plating) Kinda adds to the "dragon scale" look.
The blue spines down the back are cut from, of all things, WINDOW BLINDS!
Other bits and pieces from here and there, stuf I thought would look good, are all over it.

I'm glad you guys like it.

Jeez, sounds like there was a lot more work put into this than I realised! I think you should take it as a complement that people can't tell that it isn't factory-made.

You made it so well its hard to tell it ever was window blind etc :-)

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.
