Just a small thread as a kind of follow up to my other based on my Bret army, seeing as GW recently took down numerous Bretonnian models off the website and i wasn't about to pay ludicrous price for the old kit on ebay when GW are more than likely going to give Brets a long overdue update soon, i decided to take matters into my own hands! ENJOY

Just the first few photos of the early stages, sorry for the poor image quality, wasnt planning on posting these, images of the painting stages were taken on an SLR so look out for them!

Just getting all my basecoats down ready to wash the model and then onto highlights.

Base:
Limbs on the base are from Army Painters 'Battlefield' range.
Coin bag was sculpted by myself.
Shield half was taken from my greenstuff press mould.

To keep costs low i will be using some men at arms models to substitute for the Battle Pilgrilms, will be replacing the halberds with swords and might sculpt some grails on their shields etc to look the part, just so you can get an idea for now, here are some regular models, more pictures to come!

Nicely done! I assume that armored skeleton is being painted separately for installation as the relic? Seems more a mobile altar than reliquary if it's just a platform with candles.

Oh yes, by all means use men-at-arms for battle pilgrims. It's a quick and easy conversion. Just make use of all those non-polearm weapon bits and helmetless heads from the archer and M@A kits. If you've got them sitting around, the heads from the Knights of the White Wolf sprue from the Empire Knights kit works too. (And the arms can be used to convert KOTR into Questing Knights, if that's you're thing, but it's a bit more work.)

If you feel moderately ambitious, trimming one of those wall shields down to an inverted kite shield isn't all that hard either.
