G'day mate,
First off I'd like to say that the OSL you've done on the armour is absolutely ace. I think you've really nailed the effect nicely. That said, I feel that the sword is a little lacklustre in comparison, the lines are a little thick, the paint not thinned enough and the contrast not stark enough. It just doesn't do the rest of the model justice.
With the little speaker box on his back left, is that giving off its own light? Because if so that's not very clear, and if it's coming from the sword then it's way too strong. If the base itself is glowing, that's not really apparent, and if it's not, then the left leg and ground are way too affected by the light coming from the blade in comparison to other parts of the figure. I feel like while the model is a strong one, the OSL is a bit disjointed in where it exerts influence. It is influencing some places to an abnormal extent.
So, to sum up, great model! Love, love, love the armour's reflection of green, but believe that it should be toned down on the back of the model + the base (which would receive less light from the forward facing sword) and the left leg, which is reflecting too high a concentration of light and should be brought back closer to the armour's bas colours.
Keep up the great work, mate! Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, while I personally wouldn't opt for that base's style, I would advocate that all bases look better with a crisp rim, so maybe re-go over that in a neutral colour? Again, great job!
