I have a question... Is the three helbrute formation any good and what does it do?

sounds too random to me with a 1/3 chance of staying in place when you actually do need to charge something

This forum isn't a replacement for rulebooks. I suggest downloading the dataslate.

Oh I know my Ipad just died horribly so I just wanted to ask a question. Eh I think I'll do it because 1/3 chance is better than getting a helbrute that just gets murdered coming on

Come on guys, just saying "buy the rulebook" doesn't help. He is asking if it is worth purchasing.

He really wasn't.

Asking what the formation does isn't the same as asking someone to post the full rules.

If someone with the dataslate wanted to post a summary of what it does, that would be fine.

I think its worth it.

If you pull it off you can insta-gib a Land Raider or pretty much any vehicle in your enemy's DZ. And then you still have 9 HP's worth of DCCW-armed walkers to wreak havoc in said zone.

GW is scared of girls. Why do you think they have so much trouble sculpting attractive female models? Because girls have cooties and the staff at GW don't like looking at them for too long because it makes them feel funny in their naughty place.

A c:sm dread needs a drop pod to DS. This formation saves 105pts due to not needing drop pods. It puts a seriously dangerous amount of av12 in/near the opponents deployment zone.
That 1/3 of a chance means you double your shots, 6mm shots at bs4 at close range is still an awesome result. They also have IWND.

It's done well for me, usually kills some armor and harasses the crap out of backline troops. MM/PF/HF is only 115pts a piece, not bad for what you get. Just keep it away from swarms

One is a Character, too, so Gift of Mutation can turn him into a DP.

Or a Spawn.

Or lets him re-roll failed armor saves. (giggle)

That's only in the 5 dread formation, not the deepstriking/IWND one.

I ran this in a few times in Apoc games. I love it. Dropping in and blasting something with a few MM shots really gets them to turn the attention to them. Being that you DS in there is a fair chance you are going to take a shot to the RA, but with the three of them it isn't that bad. with the attention going to them it also gives any other key guys you have a round of less focus to move in.
