So got myself a new maulerfiend today. And simultaneously found an old rhino in my cupboard.... Then a light bulb flickered above my head and I decided to try and bring the two together as I wanted a more dynamic pose so that it didn't look like my other bog standard one....

Let me know what you think dakka....

Yeah, I don't know how to spin the photos... Perhaps a mod could help me out?

Thanks gents. I tidied the Base up this morning and added some rocks and stones. I am now adding a Base coat to the two parts and I'll commence painting shortly. I'll throw another picture up when the Base colours are on.

Added some base spray colours this evening.... Here's a picture or two. Tried to get them the right way around...

Are you using a computer? If so, just save the files to your computer, load the file and it should have a rotate option. Then just re-upload them

What color Rhino are you gonna do? Also, looks like he's having his way with that Rhino very cool conversion

I'm thinking blue on the rhino, as I have a friend that plays ultramarines. Alternatively I'll paint it dark angels as I have a dark a gels army. Not sure what colour would compliment it best.

Green would do a nice contrast.. blue would be overall a bit too bright imo.

The issue is just in how DakkaDakka's uploads directly here works.

What I personally do is upload everything from my phone first to Twitter, then grab the image from there and use [ img ] tags. (No spaces from the brackets, just doing that so it'll show up.)

Uploading directly to Dakka just has a lot of quirks. Plus, hosting it elsewhere is fun for yourself as it lets you post to more places than just here! I've managed to gain like 15 followers from some Space Hulk minis I've been working on so there's that immediate satisfaction you can get via Twitter if you use the right hastags. You can also go make an imgur account, too, as that's a pretty easy to set up picture sharing site.

As for suggestions on what to do with the Rhino, you can still do blue. Just make sure you keep it a darker blue, or make it very worn if you use something brighter. Like, adding enough battle-damage to the thing will keep it from having warm colors overwhelm the senses. Personally I'm a huge fan of trolling friends by putting wrecks and dead guys painted in their army colors, even if there might have been a better option for color-theory sake. If you stick with GW colors, their basecoat for Ultramarines is actually fairly dark especially if you wash it with blacks, browns or deep blues.

Yeah. I am tempted with applying a colour of my friends favourite marine army. I still think the ultramarines is too bright though. And my other friend plays blood angels, so that's too much red. It's indeed a tough choice.
