This is my attempt at making a lot of progress with my Dark Angels army. I have a few odds and ends that are painted but not a whole lot that are complete. I started this army when the Dark Vengeance starter set came out. I had started my foray into 40k with the Dark Eldar and came to love the game. Soon I acquired the plastic crack addiction and wanted to start up a new army. The DA and their mythos really appealed to me. I enjoy the challenge of creating a list with them and trying to figure out different strategies between the different companies the Dark Angels employ. Anyways, as everyone knows time makes fools of us all and moving into our first house doesn't help much either with trying to paint. I am determined for the year of 2015 to get as much as my force/terrain painted as possible. Hopefully this PLOG will help me keep focus.

Any comments and/or critiques are welcome. Here are a few pictures I have on my phone currently.

Thanks to work and real life blah blah, it has been awhile since my last post. I have been getting some painting done here and there but as expected the Tablescape Tiles did in fact distract me from painting my army. I hope to finish up my librarian this weekend and maybe a few of his friends even. Without further ado though, here is the work I recently completed on my one of my board tiles.

Thank you for any comments

Progress has continued, slowly but surely. I managed up some free time yesterday and decided to finally put some paint on Ezekiel. He has been a black blob since December. It has been so cold recently that it has given me a reason to stay inside and paint. Ezekiel is about 80% done in this picture. I need to touch up some layers after the recent wash it received (pictured) and I need to paint his sword as well as get it glued in place. Obviously, I will need to finish his banner as well but that will also require a trip to the FLGS to snag up some paints I've run out of.

*Personal fluff incoming*

Nakir is the black eyed hand of judgment for the Dark Angels 3rd Company. It is with great pride for his chapter that he carries 6 black pearls on his Rosarius. Inching ever closer to Molochia's achievement of 10, the highest ever recorded thus far. He dawns his Skull helmet while in battle and compels his fellow Astartes to fight harder through the shear tenacity in which he fights. Nakir is a quiet soul, speaking only when necessary, making his words all that more important. Heretics and Fallen beware, Nakir is ever watchful and on the hunt.

After the picture was taken, I noticed a few things that were forgotten. Edge highlighting is going to get finished up this weekend as well but I think he is at least tabletop ready.

Thanks for checking my stuff out Logan.

Nakir is now 95% complete. I want to add a layer to the gold and do some dry brushing to the base to give it more of a stone/busted up street appearance. I have decided to focus on a single model at a time seeing as how I kind of have painting A.D.D. I get more work done also when I stay focused on one as opposed to doing a little bit of work on multiple models. Starting to play in a campaign at my local shop today. I like the group of guys there and it will also further my zeal for painting.

I have also been re-basing my DV tactical squad on 32mm bases and making them very scenic to match my tablescape city board. I'm pretty pleased with them so far and once I get some more paint on the bases...and models...I will get some pictures posted up.

Silly real life had been getting in the way of my painting progress recently. My nephew had a minor surgery to have fluid drained out of his knee after a sledding accident, lots of work going on, and we have been getting ready for my great grandma's 100th birthday. I have been sneaking in some painting when i can though.

I'll have some photos posted up tomorrow morning. Just got finished with my Epistolary Israfel and basing Sgt. Raphael of the plasma strike squad. Once i get the rest of his squad based I am going to work on some of the mech. for my army.

Thanks for looking

Thanks for the comments everyone. Here are the pictures as promised. I think my librarian (Epistolary Israfel) is probably a little overboard/not done too well with the glowing eyes I tried to achieve but I really like him and I'm pretty pleased with results of my second attempt at OSL. Sgt. Raphael is someone that I finished some time ago but I am rebasing his unit with 32mm bases and I'm really liking what you can achieve with their size. I like scenic bases and when I play on my city board at home they will look incredible. Anyways, I'm done rambling.
