Got two list ideas that I'm stuck between for a tourney. Uses the usual "eternal war + modified maelstrom" missions from lvo and the like.

Now, I'm running blood angels, which means I'm going into this thing already as the underdog among the underdogs, but I'd still like to take the list that will perform better.

Air strike:
Baal strike force detachment:
Dante warlord
Jump priest with bp/valour's edge
3x jump death co. Each has 5 joes, 1 sword, and 1 fist. 1 squad has a 6th regular joe.
2x 10 man asm squad with 2 melta each. Vet sarges with sword to go with axe priest, and maul to go with valour's priest.
2x 5 man cc scouts

Fleshtearers detachment:
Astorath
Jump priest with bp/axe
5 sniper scouts
5 man asm squad with 2 flamers, sarge with 2 hand flamers, in drop pod
1847

Dante and axe priest ride in an asm squad, valour's priest in the other, asty goes in with some DC. Most often deep striking a lot of the force unless the enemy has short range. Scouts will hide until turn 2.

List 2: trident assault
Baal strike force:
Priest with bp/valour's edge
Ml1 Libby with bp/sword
2x 10 man cc scouts
Land raider crusader
Land raider redeemer
2x 5 man asm squads with 2 melta each in pods
7 man jump death co with 5 joes, 1 sword, 1 fist
Fragioso with frag cannon/heavy flamer in pod.

CAD:
Priest with bp/axe
Chaplain warlord
2x 5 man tactical squads with 1 heavy flamer each in pods. 1 sarge is double hand flamer.
1848

5 pods, 3 anti troop and 2 anti vehicle, and 2 of them obsec. I'm hoping the sight of land raiders in a tourney setting will catch opponents off guard, (or maybe have them wig out ) with little shooting above s7-8 that they would normally rely on for vehicles. Meanwhile filling them with buffed cc scouts to keep from paying an arm and a leg for a dedicated cc unit. Valour's priest and chaplain will ride in the crusader, while Libby and axe priest to in the redeemer. I honestly wish I had a 2nd chaplain on foot model instead of the Libby, as he'll be trying with his meek ml 1 to get off prescience to mimic the chap's hatred. I'll probably have the DC tail a land raider for cover, but I'm not too sure about them.

So what do, dakka? What do?

Tried changing list 2 to have all sarges gunslinging their respective guns (hand flamers in the tacs and infernos in the asm.)
removed the dread, which brings me to 4 pods, but being that it's two anti-vehicle pods and two flamers pods, I'm happy with that setup. Means I won't have any of the wrong type coming in on t1. Also upped the libby to lv 2.

Played against nids some with that. I won, but I feel like I could use the scout squads becoming just a little more deadly, but not hitting deathstar cost. Specifically, running into a hive tyrant was brutal, and I want something in the squad to scare him. So here's what I'm thinking now.

BSF:
Mephy, valour's edge priest.
10 scouts in redeemer
10 scouts in redeemer with IC's from the CAD
2 pods of 5 asm with 2x melta and inferno gunslinger sarges
5 jump death co with 1 fist.
CAD:
Corbulo, lv 2 libby in the other redeemer from the BSF
2 pods of 5x tacticals with hand flamer gunslinger sarges.

Thinking the two SC's will give the scout squads a little more bite, and with mephy over a chaplain, I'll have 5 WC instead of the piddly 2 from before. For powers I think both meph and the libby will "roll" on div for prescience, and then roll on sanguine. I'll keep unleash rage or shield of sanguinius, and pitch others for quickening, probably. Might keep fear the dark depending on enemy army. I still don't like the odds of getting two pres's off with a meager 5+d6 WC if both squads need it at the same time, but with the squad just being a bunch of scouts, combats last more than one round, and I could really use some rerolls on subsequent rounds.

I feel like this list will be an upgrade from "dead on arrival" to "mostly dead on arrival" against a knight errant list. With 8 melta shots podding from two facings, I basically have a coin flip chance of one rounding a knight. Meph also might manage to bring one down if his ablative wounds hold out for a round or so. (and the stomp roll doesn't get lucky.) With both of those happening, I MIGHT be able to pull out a draw or something.

I was also tempted to try and fit mephy into a list finally. I've been trying to fit him somewhere since the codex dropped, and haven't ran him yet because I hate random psychic powers, and he didn't feel like a good inclusion anywhere.

Oh, another issue... Who should be the warlord?
Corby's trait is terrible, Mephy's could be ok against enemy debuffs, or I could try for valour priest and get like...a strategic or something? Not sure where my best trait would lie.
