I painted this peice to test scheme ideas for a harlequin army I'm starting.
I didn't worry so much about trying to make the detail and diamonds perfect but instead focused on getting a good feel for the colours and textures I wanted to use. C&C welcome

Painting wise I think you've done a remarkable job. My only criticism is the pose is very awkward

I had used most of the wraithguard kit parts in other conversions, and for making this model the parts I had left were from different wraithguards, I figured I could make the odd fitting legs I had look like a leaping harlequin model, unfortunately I agree it is a little awkward looking.

Lovely colours and textures. Very deep. Nice scheme, for sure.

True, is amazing. The pose makes me think of a wind-up robot though.

Yes this seems to be one of those uncommon cases of 'awesome paintjob/awkward conversion'. Honestly, I feel like all you'd need to do is slice off the raised leg at the knee and bend it back, maybe a bit of greenstuff would be in order. A painter of your calibre would have no problem touching it up again.

I love the scheme, the darkness in vibrant colors makes it very fitting for the 40k universe indeed.

But that pose... Looks like it's falling over..

Great painting man, but he does look like he has seized up and is toppling over like a fainting goat.

I think the problem is you've tried for a dynamic pose with a very static model.

Really awesome paintjob and base!
The pose make me think of frankensteins monster dancing to "the monster mash"
(not something I actually have seen, but I instantly got the monster mash in my head as I saw it).

I imagine a confused old elven soul trapped in a bone armour, suddenly hearing distant laughter and seeing bright young souls
leaping about in a hazy not-memmory and trying almost unconciously to join in with awkward blundering strides.

It would be double awesome if you frehanded a grinning "masque" on the head,
but done wrong, I guess it could really ruin the whole piece.

Not really, back when this model came out it was one of the larger models out there, people were really showcasing what they could do with it and very effectively. There have been fantastic kneeling, sniping, running and leaping conversions of this model.

I think you are thinking of the much larger wraith lord.
The possibilities should be similar though, if you go through the troubble of cutting up the legs (I would not).

Ooops, I was looking at it on my phone, so didn't really clock the scale properly, Wraiththis, Wraiththat whatever.
Just goes to show how good the paintjob is, I've seen Wraithlords and Wraithknights with worse paint on them!
But yeah the possibilities are similar with some effort and a somewhat steadier hand!

The easiest fix for this awkward posing would be to remove the model from the base and work on it to make a more level platform then reattach.
The amount of work that has already gone into it would warrant that imo.

Truly a case of great paint job, but awkward pose. The straight on shot looks like he's lifting a cheek to drop some eldritch wind.

Okay okay, I know it's a dodgy looking pose! (Although there have been some great comparisons: eldarritch wind, fainting goat etc :p)

I'm thinking of selling this model and I'll repose it for someone who wants to buy it, but if I'm keeping it it was only a test peice and I won't worry about fixing it.

PM me if you're interested in owning this peice!

Go home, Wraithguard, you're drunk.

You're also painted better than anything I can do.

The best part of your paint job in my opinion is the blending on the head, blades, and cloth. Nice job!
