Hello everyone,
this is my very first post and I take this opportunity to introduce myself ... and my project.
I've been into WFB (and Wood Elves) sice I was a kid but I had a loooong gap in the hobby for almost 15 years!.
However, with the release of the new codex, new miniatures... well I could not resist (old habits die hard).

So this is my project for a "new" wood elves army. I would like to have your opinion on the color scheme, conversion ideas and so on
Thanks for any feedback, help and tip

Haven't decided on basing yet since there are rumors about the switching to round bases of WFB...

Cheers

Welcome to dakka, and back to the hobby!!

I must say, you painting skills are great! They dont suggest you've spent a long time away from the hobby at all. It's a shame you're holding off on your basing, tbh. I think they'd look fantastic with finished bases.

Looking forward to seeing more!

Hello! Thank you all for the comments!
I'm glad you like the color scheme, I was very uncertain... but in the end I took inspiration from the "Wildewood clan" from the recent WE codex.
I wanted to give at my wood elves a more "traditional" and a little less fairy impression (and without using the autumnal theme, very popular recently).

I like the new miniatures (more old school WE) and I chose to use the Shadow Warriors as a base for my Scouts to create more continuity with the Eternal Guard.
I wanted them more "elvish elegant" but still woody and dark.

After your comments I decided to do a try a base color scheme, and here's a finished scout ... I did not want the classic green and grass forest base, so I chose a scorched ground, muddy and waste (those are End Times WE after all )

Let me know what you think... any comments, critique, suggestion is much appreciated

Best

ps. sorry for the bad focus of the picture

It's all looking amazing so far. I particularly like the shadow warrior conversions into waywatchers.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Thanks! I wanted to recreate the concept of the old waywatcher (I loved those models).

The only thing that I hope is to be able to recreate the hood of this model starting from the SW helmet (I modified and lowered the helmet but ... we'll see after the painting)

First line of my unit of 10 Glade Guard, the command group are in progress.

Apart from the color, what distinguishes the GG from the scouts/WW is the face always uncovered.

Hello everyone!
I would like to share two small works in progress.... the first is a test mini for glade riders, and the second is a conversion for a champion / glade captain.
I have not decided yet on the color of the cloak, but I think black or gray...
