I... actually don't know. Help?

When I think of a Space Marine, I think of a hero, a knight that has been painted in, well, neo-nazi propaganda. Welp, that turned out bad.
What I'm saying is that Space Marines are the Knights of 40K, they are the bringers of light and angels of death, shouldn't they be showing every single victory and honour on thei armour?
To me, it seems like when a Space Marine is "recruited" from say a village, the family should be proud. A few years later, when the Marine is done, the entire village will honour him, and almost worship him.
I'm thinking about grabbing a spare marine painting him in knightly and bright colours (metallic?), and making cool heraldry on shoulder and knee pads. Then I'd make a back banner, with personal heraldry symbols, kill count and purity seals. Anyone else thinks this would look cool?

Actually back when GW had tutorials the same idea was posted on their website with regards to painting black Templars: painting badges of achievements during a conflict, or showing that the marine has taken part in that conflict.

And no, a marine is never done until he is dead. Hahaha

Yeah, I saw an old RT-era tutorial where they all had personal banners, that is what I've been thinking aboot.
