A big congratulations to everyone who finished, and good luck! There is some amazing work here, and easily half a dozen entries that I could vote for!

This one vote per person thing blows. Next month maybe we can use the honor system and ask people to keep it to 3 votes?

Very hard to pick a top entry, there were so many good ones.

Yeah, it's certaintly not ideal! I guess just asking people to stick to 3 next time could work...

So much Space Marines in one place? That sounds like LEGION-BUILDING! HERESY!

In all seriousness, it was hard to pick just one personal favourite, there's so much awesome work on display

Tactical_Spam: Ezra is fighting reality right now.

War Kitten: Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...

War Kitten: Ezra can steal reality

One advantage of the multiple vote system is it lets more people get recognized. As I was watching the final pictures come in, I kept thinking “well, I might get third” “check that, 4th after that last awesome entry” “5th?” etc. At this point I’m hoping for more then 0 votes. But considering the strength of the field, frankly I shouldn’t get any. Even if someone has a weird Ultramarine bias, I can’t even claim to have the best boy in blue. I might get some votes from my legion of sycophants, or some from the very real promise of cookies for votes bribes, but not from any amount of skill at the bench.

Having multiple votes lets you cast one or two to the mind-blowing awesome works that deserve to win, but also toss one to the little guy who’s entry this month is heads and shoulders above what he did last month.

+1

We could also call upon the good nature of all entrants to at least check out the other entrants' stuff

On, I'll definitely set up Unlimited Votes and ask people to stick to X number (3?) next month. Bit late to change this one, but I hope no one feels too left out this time round!

Still having trouble voting for just one myself!

Somehow, this makes me wonder what kind of ads are still played in the Imperium....

Cadian Gates - The breakfast you need to defend the Imperium! Buy now and receive a FREE Lasrifle with every box!

Commisar Crunchies - When you need a snack in between shooting cowards!

I could go on, but for the sake of everyone's sanity, I'll spare you more of my horrible sense of humour

Well that was the most difficult decision I've ever had to make since I had to choose between either Kaidan Alenko or Ashley Williams. There was some awesome minis to choose from and I feel bad that I could only vote for one when so many deserve recognition for their brilliant work.

Thanks for changing that for next time, I whittled it down to 4, but managed to choose my winner in the end.

Again, big thanks for all the hard work. If you ever need a break from maintaining get one of us to take over for a spell it'd obviously be renamed "Paradigm's Painting Contest" (or equivalent) in honour - that's how it's referred to in my blog anyway!

Ooh, quick query. If every participant is getting one point if they don't place, have you thought about how they will rank?

If not, could I put forward that it is technically accurate to have 40-odd people in joint 4th place.

Some people might prefer a specific rank, but the system is going to have to be agreed upon by a majority of the participants. Options for specific rank each would have to be something fair like order of completion of model, order of entry or alphabetical by username.

I'm not bothered personally, but have had issues in other situations in the past where people have got surprisingly competitive when I didn't expect it. I always play the "Chillax man!" stance

I think I see what you're getting at. Here's how I envisioned it working, but I'm open to feedback:

For the challenge itself, everyone gets ranked in order of votes, with placing going as high as it needs to. Obviously tied votes will just mean joint rankings as necessary. If we end up with 6 people tied in 5th/9th/whatever place then so be it, I don't think anyone is taking this that seriously that it'll matter! I could track order of completion ect, but that is just more info to handle at the end (it already took over an hour to do just the pics and poll for this one! )

The other part of it is the League, which will track overall total points, challenges completed and highest placing, used in that order to rank people (eg if two people have 15 points after a few months, but one has completed 5 round and other 4, the one with most rounds goes higher. If they'd both done 5 rounds, the one with the highest placing would go ahead). Again, any ties are just ties.

All this is open change if enough people say, but really, its more about participation and motivation than results; new painted minis to play with and new skills learned along the way are the only prize, after all!

I actually had finally decided on MangoChutney's captain after extensive deliberation between his and OneManNoodle's model. It was a very close choice for me, but the amazing execution of a human face is what decided it in the end. Imagine MC's captain's head on OMN's captain...

I must agree. It's far too hard to do this with only one vote. I have 3-4 I can't decide between, I'm saving it up until I'm 100% certain!
