So my short and sweet introduction is that I'm working on my DIY Salamanders army, The Ash Bringers, and decided to create this Blog to keep me motivated and on track!
I'm working on assembling and painting an 1850 list that I'm really excited to play, there's 7 Pods!

I'll definitely be updating this thread with more fluff and pictures as things are finished.

I finished painting Vulkans Command Squad and their pod recently, images are in the Gallery but I'll link them here when I get a chance.

Currently have a Tac Squad, Assault Squad and the Sternguard built and ready to be primed!

If they are Salamanders, shouldn't the terminator's skin be black?

What I understand is that it's specifically the humans from Nocturn and their physiology mixing with the Salamanders Gene Seed that creates the skin colour mutation.

But to be honest I just didn't think it would work with their already monotone colour scheme, mixed with the fact that it's a Successor Chapter meant I could create their look completely.

Also, it's his chapter, he can paint his models however he wants to, regardless of what chapter rules he uses. I think the color scheme looks awesome. The conversion is cool too. That burning sword and angel-wing shield is great; really eye-catching. Keep it up!

Yeah I love how the Chapter Master turned out, just a little green stuff can go a long way!
His shield is actually made out of a wing from the Sanguinary Guard kit, a piece of their jump packs. I just had to carve the lower row of feathers a little shorter.

Been working on a bit of the fluff surrounding my Chapter, most is pretty rough so far so I'm always open to suggestions or timeline fixes etc etc from the more knowledgeable fluff heads on Dakka.

The Ash Bringers Chapter was sanctioned by the High Lords of Terra during the famous 23rd Founding (Sentinal Founding) in the 37th Millennium.
They are historically a fleet based Chapter who crusaded throughout the Eastern Fringe in the Emperor's name. Due to their original purpose of rapid response and insertion to planets in need of aid, they remain so to this day.
The Flagship Cruiser Sol Ignem, or "Sun Fire", leads the fleet while acting as a hub for Chapter Master Vesuvius to direct the operations of the entire Chapter.
The Ash Bringers employ rapid response combat doctrines including the almost exclusive use of Drop Pod assault deployment, which is then bolstered by aerial reinforcement.

These are the basics I've got so far. Was thinking they could be present during some of the engagements along the Eastern Fringe that include the Tau moving into Imperial space as well as the Tyranid Hive Fleet threats that arrive shortly after.
I'm still working on their rituals and beliefs etc., leaning towards something having to do with Phoenix insignias and the idea of reincarnation via the gene seed and the light of the Emperor.

Also, pretty sure I want the battle cry to be:
"Warriors reborn through fire! Enemies returned to ash!"

I love the burning blade! It's awesome.
What is the flamer head on the Vulkan conversion?

BTW, it's hard to see anything in the picture above. That tray really doesn't help

The flamer head is from a chaos rhino kit actually (HERESY!) Just thought the dragon head fit perfectly

Thanks dude! I don't use tape, its all free hand.
I find it easier since all the spaces are so small its actually not too bad to keep straight.
