Hi senpai... it seems you have noticed me after all! WOuld you liKe tO sEe mY tITan?
This is my Cerastus Castigator
I have scoured the interwebs looking for something that portrayed the Cerastus as something other than a lumbering mech that can stand.
I couldn't really find anything that expressed the Cerastus' mobility (i.e flanking speed, that to me seems like a crap ton of ground covered in a single turn). Many poses were pretty static mainly defensive stances (which are fantastic since I play a tank in every MMO, Much Love!) But aside from the Lancer most Cerastus seem limited to standing and being majestic.
So after looking around at some sketches of action poses I decided I would try an "in motion" pose mainly focusing on the agility and destructive force aspect of the knights.
Still working on a base for it need to find some way to simulate dirt and rock being flung into the air.

Is it fire or blood on the blade?

It's fire, since the tempest blade has the deflagrate rule I found it interesting to try and emulate that.

Love the pose on this guy, and I like the take on the sword, though I always imagined deflagration to be more.. evaporating lightning kinda thing lol

In a sense it could be, but since deflag is a secondary hit I envision persistent burning or heat wave after the strike (like ifrit's Hellfire from ff7 only imagine it being a sword swipe instead of a green dude) as opposed to the single lightning strike. I was tempted to go lightning since it is the "tempest" blade however an attack like hellfire could also be considered a tempest.
Plus I wanted to field the knights with the sisters once a plastic kit came out and the sisters love the hell out of fire.

Yeah very cool pose on this bad boy.. Did you pin the model as that pose looks somewhat precarious?

The model is fairly secure but there is some flexing at the base due to the weight. I did not pin anything but under the left leg there is a clear piece of sprue attaching the foot to the base so all the weight isn't on the one big toe.
The pose was fully supported by the kit although it was a huge pain in the butt. I used light gluing to make non permanent setup bonds so that I could reason out the positioning.
The only real modification I did was the gas piston on the left leg had a little too much around the larger ball joint so I sanded a little off to expose more of the "ball" of the joint (can't see the area that was sanded as it sits pretty close to the leg frame, a little dark wash and you can't tell anything was changed) and the rod was 3mm too short so I took some of the other piston cuttings and glued it on then took some green stuff stuck it on and rolled the rod till the seam was well blended. After some paint and re-attaching the rod to the piston, it looked pretty legit.

Looked at my previous pictures and to me it seemed like there wasn't enough color on the castigator so I redid his paint a bit, made it a little brighter and added more color. That and my photography sucks but I managed to set up better lighting this time around and adjusted my phones exposure rate to better capture the details.
Tell me what you think guys!
