Wherin I endeavor to present a mostly complete accounting of the bold voyages of the HMS Titan's Uranus at Adepticon 2015. Marvel as she bests the wicked Spaniards and devious French, triumphs over mutiny and pirates and even survives the dread ghost ship and the fearsome Kraken!

An excellent game put on by admirable people resulting in much merriment for the lucky participants.

Hello! Thank you for posting. Do you know what rule set they used for the game?

I have looked around the blog but didn't see anywhere it might have been listed. I do think the boats are fantastic and I think ainsty casting is the way to go. I really want to make a ghost ship and a British navy vessel with marines and the like!

Thanks again

JG

They use their own homebrew ruleset that they call Fistful of Seamen. It's really a ship to ship and RPG lite system. It's awesome at this scale withi 28mm minis, but as far as we were able to tell, the minis don't actually affect the game in anyway.

Thanks, hope to see something come of it in the future.

It's the textured plastic panels for ceiling mounted florescent lights that's been sprayed on the back with 2 shades of blue (I think). I'm pretty sure each 2x4 panel is only a few bucks at the hardware store, but I haven't looked to see what texture patterns are available. I'm thinking about picking a couple up to make rivers or seashore for some of my other games.

Good write up and lovely pictures. It looked like a real blast. I don't mind saying I was mighty pleased to see the British Flag ship loose her Fenchie Captain, good show!

I see your note on further Swashbuckling and would suggest you look up GW's Legends of the High Seas given your clubs skirmish bent.

It's OOP but should be easily sourced if you look.

Thanks,
A buddy of mine has LotHS. I also have Legends of the Old West and it (I hear is pretty similar) looks pretty good. However, some of these books have become quite expensive on the second hand market so if we do a pirate game it will probably be something like Ganesha's "Flashing Steel" which is a really fast-paced game based on Song of Blades and Heroes.

I'm not sure if or when it would happen, but one of our members did buy a bunch of figs and hulls a while back so maybe we'll get the bug ourselves.
