Ryza Skitarii

Could you give us some closeups please? The miniatures look neat and crisp, but I cant see much detail

Those colors on that basing against that lighting make it pretty hard to see the detail, but they do look tabletop quality to me.

You applied the orange really well, what color(s) did you use? and method? I've always had a lot of trouble with orange.

Nothing complicated:
3 thin coats of Jokaero Orange.

Wouldn't hurt to gloss them up, hit them with an oil wash, matte coat, then re-establish some of the highlights. Would really make them pop. Oh and drill that stubber barrel out!

I do love that color scheme though. Nice alternative to the standard red.

I think a light wash in some of the crack and recessess of the armour as well as around any raised areas like the pilot viewport or th rivets would really make them pop. I really like the colors though. I didn't like this scheme in the book but your orange is a little more muted and looks much better. Great job!

I've been using Troll Slayer orange, the highlightig Fire Dragon Bright. I can't wait to get home from my vacation/then off work to start painting the rest of my Ryza, need to build another Ballistarii and my Onager but it's still exciting!

Now that I think of it... I've only ever heard of the Ad Mech either being red, or, in rare cases, white. Do the new rulebooks provide any narrative justification for other colors?

The rule book show you the colour scheme for some of the major forge worlds and Ryzas is orange and thats all, but you are right that the majority are mostly coloured red but Metalica, Ryza and Agripinaa aren't. (Metalica is white and Agripinaa is grey)

Also Stygies VIII uses black robes over red armour.

It's funny because I seen this awhile ago when I started painting my skittarrii Ryza, I had planned to combine Skittarrii, 30k admech, and the Cult mech stuff combined. you're doing the exact same! Very nice
