So I've decided to step up my basing, while also trying to step up my painting.

This is what I've come up with my my Forge Fiend, which uses a bit from the crashed aquila lander along with various and other bits.

This is also the first time I've tried weathering.

With all my Chaos minis I actually wanted to do something different, so I wanted to convey a world that was once torn by war, but was recovering and beginning to bloom with life again, only to have Chaos return so many decades later.
For this reason I want to bring green grass and flowers in across my armies bases, but still show some signs of wars long past - hence this piece.

As the title says, your C&C would be appreciated - and any tips would also be amazing.

very nice. id maybe give the soil part a light drybrush of a lighter brown on the uppermost parts depending how wet you want it to look, or you could add some dry mud weathering powders and seal with white spirit. also, if the debris is from a long time ago, i think it would be more weathered..rust streaks, and maybe some bare metal chipping along the edges
