Hello fellow gamers! I have just came back after a 12 year break and new to shading and highlighting so any tips appreciated with constructed criticism

Is that shading from a wash or is it painted on? Either way it's a bit heavy. The skin is a little more yellow-green than I'm accustomed to seeing on Orks, and the near-black shading makes that stand out a bit.I'd also change or highlight the black on the lower half of the shoota, because right now it looks like untouched primer.

It's a good paint job overall, just needs to be touched up in a few spots.

Don't drink a pot of coffee before doing the teeth!

I reckon the first essential tool for you is washes.

Washes will help mediate the large disparities in the colors you've applied, and give you a more of a medium result where you can then apply the rough n ready highlights...to better effect.

Washes = mostly water with a good enough amount of paint to actually show up after being applied, and dried.

Great tips everyone, thanks! I used brown for the pants and i did a wash before highlights, im working on mixing water better in my paints before i paint. I want to blend the colors for a natural flow blend look. Learned a lot in a short time. Thanks everyone
