Hey there everyone. I'm not having a lot of luck with Martian Ironearth paint from GW. The drying does not look even and it is cracking off before I even get to dry brush. I let the base dry over night, and this is the result.

Any helpful hints? I did not basecoat the base. Maybe I should?

Thanks

Did you prime the base before hand?

I did not prime it. Would if work to prime it now over the existing Ironearth, or should I try to take it off?

After drying, spray it with purity seal, then drybrush it. That'll hold it in place and won't clog the cracks.

I imagine it would just continue to flake off as the original surface isn't adhering as well to the base. It would probably be easy to flake off.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. Don't know why I didn't think to prime them first. Probably because I did not attach my models yet.

Both will help. I've found that base spraying normally helps with the cracking, but doesn't look like that's been a problem. But it won't flake off after sealing unless you really heavily drybrush it.

Yeah the flaking happened before I even started to dry brush.

What can I seal it with? Would 'Ard Coat from GW work? Do I do that after dry brushing?
