I want some help with cloth options.

Well I have no idea why it is going sideways so please bear with me :(. My main question is about the cloth and how to finish my white trim and sword down the middle. So far I have a smooth layer of codex gray with the cloth. I was wondering if I should do a dry brushed white with a black wash just on the white and not on the brown washed cloth, or black wash the grey then dry brush the white on. I kinda wanted to give it a deep color contrast because I wanted it to look old.
