Subject: Trying to dynamically pose a Wraithknight

I went an ordered a second wraithknight. It seems people don't like double D cannons, even if it is because they way you modelled it in 6th. So I'm going to run the sword instead. But I want a running pose. There is an example found in both the 6th and 7th edition books that show an Iyanden wraithknight running with a sword...... But how on earth do you do it? Any help would be appreciated.

It's likely more destructive in melee now.
I'm not sure but I think it would mostly be cutting the pegs in the knees and hip joint to allow them to move better.

I have not assembled a WK myself, but as you typed "Any help would be appreciated"...
cut, pin, glue (epoxy), fill gaps with greenstuff.
need to pin the remaining leg to the base, as it now only has one to stand on. I would glue a few layers of plasticard to the underside of the base to get something thicker to pin into.

Reinforce it by having second running leg almost brushing a bit of terrain to hide a pin into the foot/leg joint as a way to gain extra srengh?

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all. |

I would use something like 2mm brass rod for the pins. paperclips are not going to manage.

So the custom Base turned up, as did the 2mm brass rod you guys told me to order (thanks by the way, it's perfect) and I thought I'd post an update. Starting posing him last night. Lots of snipping, plastic resin, superglue, blue tac, green stuff, swearing, and added patience, and this is where I've got to.... Automatically Appended Next Post: I know it's not quite the pose I originally intended.... Wanted to be a little more adventurous.

Progress is slow this week so far, having never really painted a model before it was fully assembled I'm spending some time working out what I can glue and what I can't. Next step is to do build the arms up and work the pose I want for them. Lots of blu tac I think. I also need to attempt to magnetise the sword hand in for ease of transport. Not sure it'll work, it's a big old sword.

In what way do you mean? I currently think they're epic value for money considering all I wanted was a crushed concrete style as we're building a ruined city themed board. I have one for my flier to with a cross section cut in for the stand. As long as it takes paint well I think I'll be a huge fan.

OK, an update. Busted the blu tac out today. Think I've picked my pose out.... Let me know what you think? Automatically Appended Next Post: OK.... This 'getting the picture the right way up thing' it's starting to really wind me up.
Can a mod help me? And right them all...

That is fantastically well posed. I think posing is almost as important as painting for some models, and you've really got that one spot on.
