Like the topic says I'm looking for help on what you guys like as far as paint pallets on stumps and game trail dirt roads in a forest. The setting I'm going for is dark deep woods colors. I have the pre made leaves, dark green shrubs, and green moss like powder to go along with the stumps. The bases are for deathwing terminators so it's a decent size to work with. Knowingly this info is buried somewhere on the forum, so any help on the colors you guys start with and highlight up to would be awesome.
Thanks for your time!

You mean what colors do we prefer?

I dont know why but i though you meant making paint pallets out of woodstumps

Im very fond of Raw Umber for dirt colors which is kinda like Grave yard earth.

and Burnt umbers for trees/bark.

Yah i meant what color you start with and high light with lol. I usually do a base then wash, high light then maybe another wash then go up another color or 2 with some more high lights. I like the wood base suggestion though. I was thinking myself to mix a dark brow with black as the base and go up from there. In my mind I've got them fighting in a deep wooded area kinda like caliban. Caliban is the home world of the dark angels, I'm just tring to make them fluffy lol. Thanks for the reply!

Finished product for the bases. Proud for a first go around.
