We'll definitely give AoS a go in our gaming group.

I only own a few models here and there of most of the factions, so this is a perfect game for me to try out, as I never "built" a "full army" in Warhammer.

Played a few games yesterday. Wasn't that great. I picked casually though, as I will keep my fantasy minis and play with friends every now and again. I won't be buying any new fantasy stuff, however.

Yeah, I'll play it when I can. It seems to fill a nice size range that's bigger than LotR but smaller than KoW, and while Dragon Rampant will eventually fill that slot too, one can never have too many rules options. AoS seems fun on its own merits, and with a bit of polish should be fine.

Interesting idea, but as long as the rules are incomplete, there's not much merit. Waiting for GW to fully release.

As the rules stand now, the only fairly reasonable way to play this skeleton of a game is with the starter set and/or basic, unmodified size formations from warscrolls (take only minimal squad sizes from the units listed, modify equipment as you please tho).

Unless we get more complete rules that aren't ridiculous, after buying the starter set I will be spending my money elsewhere - maybe on Dystopian Wars or Star Wars Armada/X-Wing.

Not until they release rules for my dwarves that don't make me want to flip the bird in Nottingham's general direction.

The eyeball test works. I'd say probably better than just minimum unit-sized Warscrolls.

Just imagine your armies being in the 1500~1750 range from 8E. It works quite well.

I wont play it, but didnt play fantasy, that said I will buy the models since they are excellent for 40K conversions, and given that GW is only charging for the models not the rules it means to them I fall into the same catagory as people that will actually play the game.

Poll fatigue... your "no" vote is only a third the rest is yes or undecided/give it a go first.

Nah I played 40k for skirmishing I played fantasy for large scale battles with formations of troops. Now thats its more like Warmachine I think I'd rather just switch to actual warmachine.

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
