I've heard a lot of mentions of Meltagun toting Bikers as a good source of Anti-Armor stuff, so I'm thinking of getting some Meltaguns for my Ravenwing Bike Squad (currently it's a Sergeant and two guys with Chainswords), so want to make I get the right kit to add some Melta Bikers to the squad!
Thing is, I'm not sure whether the ordinary Space Marine Bikers or the Ravenwing Bike Squad would have 'em. So that's what I'm asking about. If neither has them, I might just look for bits on eBay or something.
Might not be my last question about box contents, might it might be, not sure just yet.

Generally, you get them from other kits. (Tac marines, etc)

On a sidenote, would a Combi-Melta for the Sergeant be a good idea?

The centurion box has 6 melta guns inside that are spare if you build the devastator variants.

Personally, I used the melta parts from the Stormraven kit.

I cut off the front end of one of the bikes boltguns and glued the melta parts on the front; see below

Good to know. Might not be a great option for me as Centurions aren't available to Dark Angels, but I plan to eventually try out Black Templars and I suppose if I ever do and get them some Dev-Cents then I'll have some spare Meltas!

Looks really cool, but isn't that a Multi-Melta?
Someone would have to be a complete jerk to get that nitpicky, particularly with such a well-done conversion but I just want to cover all my bases anyway.

Also on a sidenote, don't the special weapons replace the Bolt Pistol/Chainsword, rather than the Twin-Linked Bolter? Just something I'd like to know, mainly for the Sergeant if I give him a Combi-Melta (so he can use the Twin-Linked one rather than the normal half of the Combi after he fires the Melta).

You're correct, they are multimelta parts. I settled on them for the following reasons 1) they look more sizeable and meaningful on the bike compared to a single barrel I reckon. I had originally used a single barrel but something just didn't *feel* right about it. 2) My other army has 16 melta / combi melta and so to me the standard guns are a bit like unicorn dust.

The way I figure it, as long as I state they're melta it should be fine as multimelta isn't an option for the bikes.

The rules for Chaos say you can either swap CCW or the bikes TL boltgun. I went for the boltgun as my guys are for CC purposes (Chaos bikes with MoN really outshine their loyalist counterparts with more base attacks). I'm not sure how the Dark Angels compare though, the upgrades may be different. My SM codex only says you can take special weapons (no modification to the bike) so you may have to have them holding guns if you want to be codex-accurate.

I bought a pack of these melta guns a few years ago to kit out my command squad on bikers.

I thought they were a decent deal. They're Resin, though...

@Wulfmar Fair enough on all points. Planning on replacing my dudes' Chainswords (well, they don't actually DO anything...) with the Meltas. Should be simple, cut off the Chainsword blades and the Melta handle then glue 'em together right and it should work out jut fine!

@Yukondal: Those DO look pretty good, but I literally can't work with resin (only have Citadel Thin Plastic Glue), shame those aren't plastic... Thankfully found some plastic Meltaguns on eBay for about the same price per gun (and the seller also has a Combi Melta available that I could put on my Sergeant!).
