Hi All,

I hope alls well,

I just wanted to share my first mini I painted over the weekend... I have painted armour and terrain before but never an actual mini..... I put together some DKoK parts to come up with my spotter.....

quite a basic paint technique but BOY do I have a new found respect for painting mini's...... very steep learning curve.

Grey Halfords Primer
Great Coat = Vallejo French Blue outer & Tamiya Light Blue Inner
Boots/Mask/gloves/bedroll = Tan Brown
Straps/Breather box/Gun Stock = Brown
Helmet= Black/metalic scratches
Gun Barrel/ buttons/buckles/metallic
Black coffee wash on boots
Agrax earthshade wash everywhere else.
Matte Varnish.

Think I might try and add some pigment to the base of the coat this evening and I have a little base made up for him too.

Would love some C&C,

Any questions please let me know,

Looks great to me! The colour choices work well, the pose is good, the paintwork is neat and once he's based up he'll be smashin'!

He looks lovely, well done on your first mini! The colours you picked work very well together.

cheers guys! Really appreciate the comments! Really happy with how he came together... hopefully the base will add some nice context but not overwhelm the mini... will have a crack at it this evening!

cheers,

I like it a lot, one suggestion I would make would to use a more neutral backdrop like a grey to help eliminate the white washing in the pictures.

Ustrello paints- 30k, 40k multiple armies

Ooh! I love the arrangement, but I would consider griming up the bags a bit more.
I'm having a hard time not seeing it as a soldier showing us his bread.

Wow, hard to believe it's your first mini. He looks fantastic, well done. A whole squad/force of these will look really great.

Homebrew Imperial Guard: 1222nd Etrurian Lancers (Winged); Special Air-Assault Brigade (SAAB)
Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)

Haha thanks mate! Yeh the new DKoK strategy is to tempt the orks out with fresh bread... lol..... will add some more grime and dirt to them....

Thanks a lot mate! Got to admit I have learned so much from the people here... it is an insane sourse of inspiration and techniques... so I am over the moon that I managed to pull it off.
