Finally knocked out a model that was scaring me. In hindsight, I think I need to thin my paints more than I do, but I was very happy with how he came out. Definitely need moar practice! Also, I hate working with white

I'd agree about thinning your paints, two thin coats will keep more detail than a single thick coat - but it can be trying on your patience!

I'd be happy with that model though, really good tabletop standard, you've got all the details (with only a few places of painting-over-the-lines) and the eye-lens is really good. Keep it up!

It's well painted.

I agree about thinning. For the whites, try base coating a very light grey, then edge highlight pure white. I also find that some Vallejo retarder helps white paint behave. Tiny amounts of paint on your brush, and build it up slowly.

As a fellow da painter I agree that white sucks. The advise about building the color up from grey is spot on though, and really thin that color out. I screwed up a couple of time and made it too thin but eventually got it. With that model i was just scared of making the cloth look dumb. Do you use washes yet? Oh and good model!
