Loyal Necron Lychguard

So I'm starting a necron, tau, and tyranid army. In that order.
Here's the fluff:
The Phaeron of a small Necron dynasty awakens is crown world and quickly takes over a largely abandoned subsector consisting of 4 planets, all are cold and icy. To show this, the Necrons' armor is white and gold, their phaeron is diplomatic and open to alliances with other races.
Upon expanding to one of the four worlds he discovers an abandoned Tau enclave. The Phaeron's tomb ship lands on the planet and is greeted by armed personal and the enclaves ethereal caste. After much talk of the 'Greater Good' and of unifying the Necrontyr, both agree on an alliance and shake hands( metaphorical ).
So whilst the Necrons keep to their crown world and the orbiting stations, they give the Tau permission and resources enough to colonize the other three planets. All is well until a Tyranid hive tendril fleet starts to head their direction.
The Tau are the first to discover this and the head Ethereal alerts the Phaeron. The Phaeron calls upon his master Cryptek and asks what they should do. After much debate, they decide to modify an entire array of missiles to launch. The missiles carry specialized mind shackle scarabs. The Tau provide the rockets while the Necrons provide the scarabs. The array is ready and the tendril is closing in.
When ready, they fire over a thousand missiles at the Hive ship, just over 20 make it and, just as planned, the tendril stops and submits to the control of the Necrontyr. Now against any incursions(this is where the crunch comes into play) the Tau provide the heavy support and long range weaponry, while the Necrons act as the meat of the force, using the Tyranids as a meat shield and barrier against attack.
This is my first time coming up with a story so bear with me.
How good/bad is it? All feed back welcome.
And yes, if I start another army I will also include it somehow.

In the rules, Tau and Necrons are Allies of Convenience, and both are Come the Apocalypse with the Tyranids

The Tau / Necron alliance I can buy but I don't think the Tyranids would submit so easily. Maybe change it so that the Necrons capture each Tyranid creature individually and hardwire them to be subservient? Maybe the Tyranids are trapped on one planet and the Necrons harvest them when necessary. Just a thought.
If you could model your Tyranids to have Necron implants I think that would give a cool theme to your army when you come to assemble and paint them.

The whole thing reads like a bad fanfiction, if I'm being honest. If you want to collect all three armies, that's fine, but from a fluff standpoint it doesn't really make any sense for them to be united as a single fighting force.
1) The Necrons look down on pretty much every other race as inferior and would never willingly be buddies with the Tau unless it was the only option. Given their dedication to their own Dynasty's way of life, I couldn't see them adopting the Greater Good as a system of principles, which is very much a system where you have to be fully committed to it as a cause.
2) I find it kind of ridiculous that some random Necron Dynasty could create Mindshackle Scarabs capable of overpowering the indomitable will of the Hive Mind; arguably the most powerful psychic force in the known galaxy.
3) Last time I checked most Necron Dynasties couldn't give two gaks about "uniting the Necrontyr", preferring to pursue their own Dynasty's personal agenda. As far as most Necrons are concerned, the Necrontyr died when they became the Necrons.
Overall, I'd say the idea is pretty far out of line with the established fluff.

I applaud the attempt at justifying your army.
I play SM+Eldar. If the enemy are nids/chaos its possible to create a narrative. If the enemy is imperial, then it makes no sense.
Tau are friendly, so I can see them being open. I cant see the Necrons being friendly to Tau, though. They would despise the upstart race. Also, the power of the hive mind being subverted permanently by converted mind shackle scarabs does not work for me.

I'm loving the feed back, I'll adjust it to where the necrons don't bother with the taught unless necessary and the tau don't interfere with the necrons for fear their technological superiority.
As far as the tyranids go, point taken. I'll have it written to where the necrons implemented one of their anti-psyker/warp fields that covers the sector, so when the tyranids land on the outer planet, they are cut off from the main fleet, while in disarray the necrons destroy the tyranid ships after they make planet fall. This way the tyranids are abandoned leaving the necrons to do what they please with select said tyrannies.
Is this better?

It would be more plausible if the Necrons, via their Cryptek diviners and such, analyzed the Tau, and determined that, while the forces of the Dynasty could crush them, it would cost resources.
So, instead, they go to the meet-and-greet with the Ethereal and then, in true Necron fashion, spray him in the face with a bucket of Mind-shackle Scarabs. Now the Tau are a vassal to the Necron Dynasty.

I like that idea, I'll rewrite the story tomorrow and post it here.
1.)necrons wake up
2.)study analyze abandoned tau enclave
3.)make nice with the ethereals while showering the ethereal, thus the entire enclave with mindschackle scarabs
4.)'allied tau' are allowed to do their thing I.e. furthering necron goals
5.)nids pop up
6.)necrons wait for tyrannies to land on a planet
7.)activate null fields
8.)immediately destroy confused hive ships
9.) Leave the nids on the planet ripe for the taking Automatically Appended Next Post: Okay, so I looked over the mistakes in my first story and applied all the feedback, so here it is.
TauCronNids 2.0
( All planets are arctic and icy)(No names will be made yet for flexibility)(ignore the lack of chaos)
So in a sub-sector devoured by a warp storm, somewhere in the Ultima Segmentum there are 4 planets, one is home to a cut-off Tau enclave, another being a long dormant crown-world of a small dynasty.
Before the warp storm, a small tendril of a hive fleet starts to move into the sub-sector. As the warp storm hits, it severs part of the tendril and isolates it in the subsector.
Due to the Necrons protocols, the keepers of the crown world wake their phaeron. Upon wakening, he has all of his sensor arrays and scouts activated. Noticing the Tau enclave, he creates a plan to use the Tau's diplomatic ways against them.
After relaying a message of 'truce' to the Tau, he and his court meet the enclaves ethereal caste. The phaeron and his court then, subtlety, use mind-shackle scarabs to brain wash the ethereal caste. Now with the Tau's greater good being the benefit of the Necrons, the phaeron moves to his next problem, the tendril.
Using data picked up from autonomous sensors, he notices the hives dependency on the warp and telepathy. He gathers several scythe class ships and has his cryptek outfit them with the Necrons null field technology. After the ships are in place around the hive fleet(which has, by now, started deploying troops onto one of the other planets)and activates the null fields. The hive ships go into disarray and start attacking one another. Taking advantage of this, the phaeron sends boarding parties to capture one of the Norn queens for his own experiments. Successfully doing so, the phaeron places the queen in a stasis field and destroys the remaining hive ships.
-end of story, for now-
Now the phaeron has access to Tau supplies and personnel, and has the option to use tyrants forces.
This I believe could make for a great narrative campaign, like the tyranids trying to take the queen back or the mind shackle losing effective ness or the warp storm ends, the possibilities are endless.
So, Dakka, how did I do? What should I improve/change?
I'm open to all feedback and opinions.
