Finally finished a DV set - only took me *cough* uhm *cough*, so here are the tactical marines! I definitely need some practice edge highlighting - much of it felt sloppy, but I wasn't sure how to make them smaller. Maybe I need to buy some smaller brushes.

Anyway, all tips for amateurs welcome!

Looking good man. I have a bit of an issue with my edge highlights as well (check my gallery for my DA stuff). Small brush, thinned paint and lots and lots of patience. :p

Only thing I'd suggest is maybe throw some orange highlights on the red parts of the guns? Just a touch.. gives you more practice on your edge highlights.

Great idea! In hindsight yes I neglected to highlight the bolters. I will look into that for touchup/next batch

Those look great. I wouldn't be hard on yourself with DV models, they really don't have as much crispness IMO as the production models sold in stand alone kits. Good work, and if you can make a starter set look this good then you've got the stuff.

A 40k Christmas tree would actually be a pretty slick way to display Dark Angels. I will look into that...
