The Archite Palatines were an Imperial Army regiment attached to the 28th Expedition Fleet under the overall command of the Primarch Fulgrim. The regiment rebelled along with the Emperor's Children in the Isstvan system. They were commanded by Lord Commander Thaddeus Fayle.

Welcome to my new project.

I am recreating a Horus Heresy era Imperial Army regiment that was attached to the Emperors Children. The plan is to create various builds so I can field units using the Latest Imperial Guard codex, The Imperial Militia list (HH Book 5 Tempest) , Solar Auxilia and a mix of all them for certain occasions.

So to start things of here are some conversions for my Guard list that I have been working on today, I'm really happy with how they have turned out so far, I just need to fill some gaps and then it's painting time.

The Archite Palatines wear red tunics and silver breastplates (dependent on there role) this particular detachment has been given the honour of adorning the Emperors Children's regal purple in lieu of there close ties through out The Great Crusade and later even following them into Heresy. The Aquila is also worn as the highest honour though only officers and men of note are permitted to do so.

I decided to work on something different today, some rank and file... These are still wip but getting there.


I'm using Praetorians to represent some of my standard troops but from here on they will be referred to as the Guards of the Royal Court .

I love that they are such small miniatures it works great with the Solar pattern armours as in the fluff they are only made in one size for the tallest men to utilise so they stand tall above the Guard as they should. Space marines look even more impressive in comparison.
