Hey guys I need your help. I recently experimented with a new color scheme (BLUE). Up to this point I've painted most of my stuff the (GREEN). FYI: the base on the blue hadn't been completed yet when I took these photos.

I'm bored...and might want to re-paint my entire army, yea crazy i know. My questions are these:

Do you like the BLUE or GREEN Scheme better? Also, if your on the BLUE team, is it significantly better to justify a FULL army re-vamp?

...I don't see why you can't use them both on different units. When you go to the games-workshop site, all the races have the same color scheme, but elder has different color for different units. I, personally, don't know much about the elder lore and why that might be, but it could be cool.

as for my opinion... I like green just look at my avatar.

Green looks a lot more sinister.

The blue is pretty sweet, but to me the green is an overall better paint job.

It's cleaner and more appealing. Don't get me wrong though, the first blue pic is pretty gakking cool.

I like the blue, but I'm not a big fan of metallic prismatic colors.

Mixing green and blue is like mixing fish and cheese in a dish: best left to the pros. Otherwise you might get nausea.

Blue looks better to me, but not enough to justify reprinting a whole army.

I prefer green. It has a nice poisonous feel to it.
The blue would probably appeal to me more with a heavy dark wash, to make it more... shady.

I think the green looks the best. The blue is almost too light to convey the menace associate with the Dark Eldar. Perhaps if you had a darker base and starker highlights that may have helped, but I think that the green is just incredible.

Go with the blue.

You're probably thinking of Aspect Warriors like Howling Banshees, Dire Avengers, etc.
They have their own shrines with their own colour schemes, depending on he shrine.
It's a different colour from the rest of the Eldar Warhost.

This isn't a showcase question really.

But for when it's moved, I vote green

I really like the blue!

I've decided to just do two different kabals. I like dark eldar enough to have two armies. I truly love them both, and I really need to paint something else but green.


Here's another picture of the sybarite i just finished. They do have a heavy dark wash, I'm just taking these pics under extreme lighting. Here's some better pics and a final close up to show you how precise my edge highlighting is.

Some of the pics came out sideways, just click on the picture and they will pop up vertically.

I like the more "tidy" look of the blue. but not enough to warrant a repaint at all.
