Hey guys,

I haven't painted in about 8 years since I was about 15.
Would be interested in getting your feedback...be as brutal as you want

I've painted a 10 man mortifactors tactical squad for my 40k army and 1 gutrot spume for my first foray into fantasy (or should I say age of sigmar?)
If you guys like them, I might put some back story to them as well.

Peace out!

Don't you just hate these newbs who waltz in after 8 years and their minis are better looking than yours?

In seriousness, these look excellent. I would be over the moon if my army was painted to such a high standard. More pics of the marines and some close ups would be nice to get more of the detail, but from what I can see they look great. Looking forward to seeing more.

Great work, especially considering the time spent away.

One small matter of personal taste is that Gutrot's skin looks incredibly clean and healthy for a guy with a giant tentacle mouth tearing out his side. It still looks great, but making the skin look more dead and diseased will take it above and beyond.

Gutrot's tentacles are my favorite part! the colour banding is perfect and I can almost imagine them wiggling away on their own accord, that's some great painting!

Thanks for the kind words In my defence I spent hours getting the shop staff to show my every brush stroke first.

I would like to try and get some close ups, I've been fighting with my camera but alas I don't have a macro lens :(
I'm painting up some scouts at the moment, hopefully they'll be ready soon!

Thanks! It's the first time I've tried that technique. Really pleased how it turned out!

Likewise I would like to work some more bruising into my nurgle miniatures in future. I was a little nervous as I was doing multiple washes and then blending them in to the flesh, which I've never done before so I think the effect was probably more subtle than I would have liked.

I'll see if I can find my old minis next time I'm home! I suspect they're pretty atrocious, I was young and had didn't listen to any painting advice.

So here are the scouts all finished! Pretty pleased with how it went.
I also entered a "lucky dip" painting competition. A character is chosen at random which I then have to paint. I got the tomb banshee, so of course I nurgled the crap out of it!
Sorry for the poor quality photos, the light is crap in my house and so focusing is a serious issue :(

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted! Things have been busy but I've managed to finish a few things.

I finally painted my kit bashed chaplain. As my girlfriend puts up with my painting, I decided to name him schatzi which is a Swiss word. Therefore, I have a space marine chaplain called Sweetheart!

I've also painted 2 out of 5 putrid blightkings. Really pleased with how well they've turned out! Let me know what you think
