I'm looking for recommendations for bits. I feel like my Dark Eldar dark lance and splinter cannon gunners ought to have a pistol as a backup weapon, much the way modern machinegunners are issued with one, in addition to their knife. However, splinter pistols are actually absurdly large, and trying to fit one to the thigh of the model looks ridiculous and cumbersome. The holstered one from the Raider kit is even more monstrous. Does anyone know of any pistol bits that look suitably Dark Eldarish, or at least Eldarish, and would fit reasonably on the thigh of a figure, something probably about half the size of a splinter pistol, and ideally in an open-top quickdraw holster? Any manufacturer, and any material, plastic, resin or metal will do, as long as it fits.

Going back a few editions, the original plastic dark eldar warriors came with holsters, which were much smaller than the current versions, I'll try and dig up a picture:

Nope, having duck-all luck, my google-fu is terrible. Anyway, they're quite small, but fit the DE aesthetic very well. Any hoarding 3rd-4th edition DE players will have some spare, and if I get a chance I'll dig through my bits box to find one to show you.

Ah, indeed! You mean the one pictured below? That is an excellent idea. Thank you. I think that fits what I need very well. Now, to track some down. If anyone out there is looking to part with any...
