Black Templar Recruit Undergoing Surgeries

Hey all,
So I took a long break from painting/modeling and have recently started up again. I tried my hand at several techniques with these two minis: the cloak is wetblended, the armor is airbrushed then edge highlighted.
Any criticism (constructive, please!) is welcome. I was going for DA color schemes, but obviously the Tac Marine came out a little more Salamander... Trial and error, I guess! Thanks everyone, and its good to be back!

Firstly, your pictures be sideways, yo! I recommend you get that corrected first
(Delete the pictures out of your gallery, then go in where-ever they're stored on your computer's hard drive, open them with window's picture viewer and rotate them 90 degrees and then save them again. Once you do that, you can re-upload them to the dakka gallery, or whatever photo host you prefer using, and then edit your post to replace them so they're right-side-up)
As far as the painting in concerned, they look extremely nice!
The wet blending on the black cloak is especially nice. Very sharp looking and I can't wait to see the entire cloak painted that way.
As far as the tactical marines go, you could darken the green down somewhat using some thin darker green glazes over the brightest parts of the mini (head, shoulder pads, etc) that will preserve the very visually pleasant shading you've done while still darkening the green down somewhat to a more traditional dark angels green color.
Though I'll be honest, I rather like the brighter green with shading down to the dark green in the 'shadows' of the mini. It's unusual and very appealing I must admit.
Welcome back to the hobby and as a fellow Angel of Death (Blood Angels here) I wish you all the best in your future painting endeavors!
Take it easy for now.

You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed. |

I Think the robes look awesome. The wet blending looks pretty decent. I'd try a few more glazes to smooth out the blends

Whew, been a while since I've had a chance to reply! I will surely correct the images ASAP, that is annoying to look at.
Thank you guys for your words. I had never delved into glazes, but that seems a good option. I was happy with the green too, even though it is not very DA-ish.
I have started working with grays and other combos to explore the possibility of using the Dark Vengeance minis but creating my own splinter chapter. Possibly sharing the same chapter device with different colors.

Echoing what others have said about them looking very smooth. The wet blend is a success.
I do not think your edge highlighting on the uppermost figure works. It continues along in places, into areas that are shaded (his wrist for example), and it is also a little less smooth than the rest of your model. I think it lets you down, sadly.
I don't have any issue with sideways pics as when clicked to view, they correct, and the Dakka thumbnail is not what I'd look at to judge anyway.
To eliminate this issue on a mobile device, upload your pictures to Dropbox, delete from your device, download and upload them. It's a pain in the behind, but it sorts the tippy up issue.

Great work on the wet blending, and good looking tactical as well. I especially like the chest symbol, looks very detailed.

Thanks again! I was happy with the wet blending for the most part; definitely some room for improvement, but it'll come. I see what you mean with the edge highlights. I am working with some crap brushes that aren't great for EHs (of course I'm failing to mention user error! ) I've got some new brushes on the way. I'll work on them and post some new pics asap.
Thanks again, guys!
