I already have a semi-competitive/casual play Eldar army, but I want to complete my Eldar by getting the models to make a tournament-grade army. However, I don't what to do the standard Eldar list; what I'm going for is an anti-meta approach to counterplay against other armies built to counter Scatbikers, D-wepaons, and Wraithknights. My FLGS will be holding a fairly competitive tournament under the ITC format in a few months, and I want to be prepared. The last time I went I broke exactly even, going 3-3. This time I hope to better my record, and maybe get to one of the top tables. I'm not looking to win the tournament outright; if I can give one of the top players a good game and a run for their money, I will have succeeded. With that said, I can expect Hexaflyrants, Ravenwing, Summoning Daemons, Gladius, Skyhammer, Gravcent Deathstars, War Convocation with BA drop pods, and the standard Eldar tournament list (possible Tau allies) at the top tables. The lower brackets will be anybody's guess, as it will be dominated by the more friendly/casual lists and players, and I don't want to just curbstomp them either. In any case, this is what I've come up with:

Combined Arms Detachment: 790 pooints

HQ:

Farseer: 120 points
-The Spirit Stone of Anath'lan
-Singing Spear
-Warlord

Warlock Conclave: 110 points
-3x Warlocks
-1x Singing Spear

Autarch: 120 points
-Swooping Hawk Wings
-Mandiblasters
-Power Sword
-Fusion Pistol

Troops:

Guardian Defenders (X2): 110 points each
-Starcannon Weapon Platform

Rangers: 60 points
-5x Rangers

Fast Attack:

Crimson Hunter Exarch: 160 points

Aspect Host 1: 704 points

Dire Avengers: 150 points
-10x Dire Avengers
-Exarch with Power Sword and Shimmershield
Wave Serpent Dedicated Transport: 140 points
-TL Scatter Lasers
-Shuriken Cannon
-Holo Fields

Fire Dragons: 135 points
-Exarch with Firepike
Wave Serpent Dedicated Transport: 140 points
-TL Scatter Lasers
-Shuriken Cannon
-Holo Fields

Dark Reapers: 139 points
-4x Dark Reapers
-Starshot Missiles
-Exarch with Starshot Missiles

Aspect Host 2: 356 points

Swooping Hawks: 116 points
-6x Swooping Hawks
-Exarch with Hawk's Talon

Warp Spiders: 130 points
-5x Warp Spiders
-Exarch with TL Death Spinner & Powerblades

Warp Spiders: 110 points
-5x Warp Spiders
-Exarch with TL Death Spinner

Total: 1850 points

This list has been designed to be an anti-meta list, using unexpected units to throw my opponent off guard. The Farseer will join the Warlocks on foot. They don't have jetbikes as a protection against grav weapons. The Autarch will naturally join the Swooping Hawks in Deep-Striking in precisely the place my opponent doesn't want them. The Autarch also buffs my reserve rolls, which will allow the second Aspect Host and the Crimson Hunter to Deep-strike in reliably turn 2 and opens up the option of reserving my Wave Serpents against heavy alpha-strike armies. The Autarch has the fusion pistol (and the Warp Spider Exarch has the powerblades) because the tournament is usually very strict about WYSIWYG. The Guardians are more durable than Scatbikers against AP3 or lower shooting, and have more bodies to bubble-wrap my Farseer and Warlock Conclave and to score objectives. The Rangers are there to mess with infiltrators and to be a cheap scoring unit. The Crimson Hunter Exarch acts to bolster my AA defenses. I intentionally chose not to duplicate Aspects other than Warp Spiders in an effort to be more unpridictable and to give me as many options as possible.

Again, I'm not trying to win the tournament with this list, but to have fun and better my record vs. the last time I participated. If I can make it to a game against one of the top players, I will have already won in my eyes. Any comments or criticisms would be greatly appreciated.

It's not bad. I just think eldar lists can't really be bad... so nobody bothers commenting ...

Okay, let's try this again. Due to a long absence from Army Builder (had problems with formations/detachments) and my own stupidity, the list I posted earlier is not a legal list (has too many HQs). With the tournament now a lot closer, and my first practice games coming up, I present this list for your critique:

Combined Arms Detachment: 735 points

HQ:

Farseer: 120 points
-Spirit Stone of Anath'lan
-Singing Spear

Autarch: 120 points
-Power Sword
-Fusion Pistol
-Mandiblasters
-Swooping Hawk Wings

Troops:

Guardian Defenders: 150 points
-Starcannon Weapons Platform
-Warlock with Singing Spear

Guardian Defenders: 145 points
-Starcannon Weapons Platform
-Warlock

Rangers: 60 points

Fast Attack:

Crimson Hunter: 140 points

Aspect Host 1: 755 points

Dire Avengers: 160 points
-10x Dire Avengers
-Exarch with Power Sword and Shimmershield
Wave Serpent Dedicated Transport: 140 points
-TL Scatter Lasers
-Shuriken Cannon
-Holo Fields

Fire Dragons: 135 points
-Exarch with Firepike
Wave Serpent Dedicated Transport: 140 points
-TL Scatter Lasers
-Shuriken Cannon
-Holo Fields

Dark Reapers: 180 points
-5x Dark Reapers
-Starshot Missiles
-Exarch with Starshot Missiles

Aspect Host 2: 356 points

Warp Spiders: 130 points
-Exarch with TL Death Spinner and Powerblades

Warp Spiders: 110 points
-Exarch with TL Death Spinner

Swooping Hawks: 116 points
-6x Swooping Hawks
-Exarch with Hawk's Talon

Total: 1846 points

I'll be using the same sort of tactics I outlined in my original list. I added the Warlocks to the Guardian squads to give me more Warp Charges and to support the Guardians; the Farseer will join one of these units. The downgrading of the Crimson Hunter and the extra Dark Reaper come as a result of shifting points totals around correctly.

Again, any sort of feedback or critique would be greatly appreciated.
