. "When Lion El'Jonson rose to become the Grand Master of The Order, he vowed to rid his world of the Great Beasts." "In any other era, Luther would probably have been acclaimed as the greatest hero of his age. He was a tireless champion of the people of Caliban, marked out as much by his inner qualities of humour and cool thoughtfulness in times of crisis as he was by the valour of his deeds. It had been Luther’s tragedy to be born in the same era as a man against whom all his endeavours would be judged and forever found wanting in comparison". " As the planet itself started to break apart, the battle between the Lion and Luther reached its climax. ". "The Fallen Dark Angels who had served under Luther were sucked from the face of Caliban into the Empyrean by the Warp Storm and effectively scattered throughout space and time. To the great frustration of the Dark Angels, there is no full list or account of who or how many had heeded the dark whispers of the Ruinous Powers and turned against their brothers. Caliban itself broke up under the strain, until all that remained was a small portion of the world that hosted the ruins of the Dark Angels' primary fortress-monastery. "

He has been recaptured by the Dark Angels in recent years and is secretly imprisoned on their mobile fortress-monastery, The Rock. He achieved his position as an officer of the Dark Angels after the I Legion was formed on Terra in the 30th Millennium and before it was reunited with its Primarch, Lion El'Jonson, on the Death World of Caliban."

He helped revive his erstwhile kin, and apprised him of the situation -- he was no longer in the 31st Millennium, but had in fact awoken far in the future, in the 41st Millennium. Abaddas than proceeded to feed Magron a stream of lies in regards to the outcome of the Horus Heresy; that Horus had won, killed the Emperor and that the Imperium of Man was no more. Instead, Horus now ruled a new Imperium of Chaos"

The second photo of the chaos Sorceror is going to be my army main color scheme with light blue flesh as a mutation from the warp. I love blue flesh for some reason. I will be painting non-metallic silver metal for the armor breastplates, and real metal for the bronze to make them seem "shiny"

Update September 27, 2015 I think this list is more solid and feels more "Unforgiven" style of Chaos. Dropped veterans and Nurgle upgrade from a few units, to max out numbers.

"The knights (of the Order) were horrified beyond words that anyone, let alone an order of knights would dare, or desire to keep such a monstrous collection of abominable creatures. A hundred or so warriors in grey armour stood in a long battle line before the walls of the keep, their swords and pistols bared. Fearsome warriors clad in wolf pelts and bedecked with fangs, the Knights of Lupus may not have been numerous, but each one of them was a great warrior, a fighter trained in the ways of combat and the pursuit of knowledge. Lord Sartana stood upon a raised platform at the centre of the battle line his helmet carried by a knight beside him. The Master of the Knights of Lupus reached for a long iron lever attached to a complex series of gears and counterweights that ran through the floor of the platform and connected with the rails and chains that ran throughout the courtyard, and with a squeal of metal, gears meshed and slave levers slid from locks and the gates to the beasts' cages opened."

Lol I got lazy but yeah, I need to clear my inbox soon. Probably 1000 clear/ week but I'd rather be getting my army ready lol. I have a spare land speeder so will try to make it look like it warped into a he'll drake for one of them. Can't wait, conversions are one of my favorite parts of the hobby. For anyone not familiar on the fallen angels, this is their story, and one of my favorites.

http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Fallen_Angels

Just found my theme. The dark oracle, Luther did not die when he fought Grand Master Lion el Jonson but remains locked up behind a wall of defensive runes. The fallen angels have finally gathered an army after over two millennia to free the "True Master of the Dark Angels"

Found some old artwork. I think I'm going to see if there's a nearby GW that teaches how to build displays once I complete painting army. Moving again October 6 so will post next update around October 7. Going to paint this pic up if I have time, throw in some stained glass and add some epoxy for warp effects. Drawn at 2009 was going to 40k almost every week when I had blood angel and dark Angels. This is how I pictured the warp would be like.

"Mostly, however, all that can be gotten out of Luther are mad ravings -- over and over again he repeats that he has no need of repentance or confession, for one day Lion El'Jonson will return and absolve him of his sins. He claims that day is near and that he can feel the Lion is already close at hand." In the story Luthor unleashed the runes of chaos. After mortally wounding Lion el Jonson, Luther went insane. He remains locked up in the Fotress and has assisted in locating many fallen angels who die gruesome deaths.

I keep messing around with lists and a thought occurred to me: Chaos is not supposed to be just about shooting, it's about using select units and assaulting everything that can be reached. I've been thinking it over and I feel like heldrakes are one of those units that people will ignore most of the game so I went from planning to run 3 to running none. My logic is that the Heldrake, being one of the newest additions to chaos didn't really fit in with the old school ( I Legion ). I decided to go more old school with units that have mostly been around since 3rd edition. I will struggle against flyer heavy armies a little bit, but I feel some synergy with this list. With that said, I feel a chaos Sorceror is still good for the storyline, since most Psykers weren't really well known until after the Heresy from what I remember. This is my final list. On Caliban, Lion el Johnson was constantly hunting warp beasts, so I think Chaos Daemons fit nicely as an ally (although going pure CSM is still very tempting) I have mark of Nurgle because they've been caught in the warp for so long, so they have toughened up to survive the horrors within. The marks are more the gods warp energy rubbing off than actually blessing them in my story. Sorry for the rant.

This is my final list. I learned to each their own, and yes I know furies are low leadership. I tend to roll a lot of snake eyes and double 6s at the worst of times so either way it will be fun.

Hopefully all these units are going to give flyer heavy armies a bad time with placement. The speed will be fun to get in my opponents face immediately, and the obliterators will probably hide in the back field on objectives for games where mandatory suicide deep strikes are not needed.

Finally finished moving into my new place. I took chaos marine bikes and threw on vanilla marine bikers with Nurgle epoxy putty sculpted on, did the same with space marine bikes, and now starting to convert Meltaguns using assault cannons. Not as legitimate as the actual Meltaguns GW has but I don't feel like paying $4.50 per Meltagun when I can make my own. I found a random cardboard chunk in the new house and it fits perfectly. I am going to be making copies of my warp artwork I drew when I was bored and attach it to the bases of the squads still emerging from the warp(see the warp art above) and painting it up to match the display board. The board will also be magnetized by cutting some sheet metal before I place the terrain and pictures to paint up.

Since this is probably the only army I am making with how much fun I'm having, once I finish the 1850 list I will expand with some more "fun" units like converting dark angels into Veterans of the Long War Chaos Marines(that's going to be awhile from now.). I've been doing conversions on my army for awhile now, although most are just average. #CheerswithBeers hopefully when I throw the epoxy sculpting on the board it will look a lot more like the a warp storm.

Took a pic with IPhone 6+ so zoom in to see a little more detail.

Played a local Tyranids player ITC format

Hive tyrant, Carnifex, Barrage Monster(not sure what they're called), 3 squads of spore mines deep striking, 20 termaguants, 10 hormaguants, 3 warriors, 6 gene stealers- 1 Lvl 1 brood lord, 6 gene stealers- 1 Lvl 1 brood lord, 3 shoots warriors

Sorceror has rolled you! you're a traitor! and psychic shriek

Daemon prince has rolled greater reward+1 wounds and it will not die with

Warp speed, life leech, endurance

Tyranids hive tyrant has rolled all enemy units within 12" use the lowest leadership value, and 2 psychic powers ( he lanced and something I forget because he died before using it)

ITC MISSION:

Primary Mission: big guns never tire (4 points)

Secondary Mission Modified Maelstrom (random objectives)

Bonus Points:

+1 for King of the HILL +1 for Line breaker +1 Slay the Warlord

Fallen Angels Turn 1

Hold objective 2 in enemy zone( lol no) and hold objective 2 in deployment zone ( yes)

Psychic shriek assassinated brood lord due to him being closest model and 1 genstealer, however caused a failed charge.

Shooting took out 7 termaguants and wounded the hive tyrant regeneration failed!

Tyranids Turn 1

Shot a Str 10 psychic lance failed to wound flesh hound and Prince, Nurgle lord was wounded.

1 biker lost to shooting

Fallen Angels turn 2

Shot the rest of gaunts. Brought tyrant down to 1 wound shooting all my guns. Daemon Prince failed to assault tyrant. Assaulted the tyrant he killed 3 flesh hounds. I whiffed with my champion power fist, caused 2 wounds with my bikers, he failed one to kill him. Consolidated to claim objective, slayed the warlord, and got points for destroying a unit this turn.

Tyranid turn 2

Shot and killed a cultist with barrage, charged hounds. Killed one hound with a wound, hounds dealt 2 wounds. Carnifex charged bikes, wounded by snap fire and killed.

Fallen angels turn 3

Lashed and killed last 3 stealers. Charged warriors, out of range with everyone except 2 bikes, tied combat. Flesh hounds won by 1.

Tyrants turn 3

Barrage failed to wound anyone . 1 hound instant death in assault, 1 wound taken. Instability test passed. Lord and bike squad vs Tyranids warriors wounded a few, lost 2 bikes.

Turn 4: We only had enough time for assault. I thought that he was slow playing the game, but found out after he had a concussion from work and was not in the right state of mind to be playing a game. I told him get some rest and I would down for a rematch down the road since he's a local gamer at Black Diamond. Shook his hand to show no hard feelings.

Bike squad and hounds dealt enough wounds to move the Tyranids warriors off of the objective, leaving one with 1 wound left. I ended up winning by full points (8-2 secondary objectives). The last 2 turns were rushed. Will try another battle report next Monday, game ended up taking over 3 hours.

Bonus Objectives : I got slay the warlord, king of the hill, and line breaker. He got no bonus objectives. Mad respect for being so dedicated to a game to play with a concussion.

Up tonight I'm playing in a 1750 league. After lots of discussion, the fallen have been so corrupted by their time in the warp that Belakor has found them and agreed to help them. My army needs more chances for armor saves, but I can't afford to buy anything until around February still. I'm going to try to find someone looking to play competitive 1850 in the area when I come back from the WWE ppv in LA. I'm done using Psykers, I take enough wounds as it is hahaha! If I take vindicators somehow I'll slap myself in the face with them too lol.

Spell familiar can't save perils, only failed psychic tests I learned the hard way smh. I probably should have chosen a horde army, but I love chaos so just going to have fun, it's not about winning, it's how much damage I can do, which was 0 to my opponent tonight. I feel like The dice gods have always been against me. Basically, I need to mass FNP and will slowly drop my Chaos Daemons for some plague marines down the road if I want to win. For now though might as well have fun. Lots of fun with LOTS more dakka. Blast masters are heavily needed against gun line/ jink save shenanigans with Str 8 ap 3 ignores cover.

So turns out getting Mondays off for local club won't be until June so I'll keep my eyes open for California tournaments for now. Not expecting to win anything but the 3 color minimum is complete. I ordered some hounds of chaos to convert into final 8 flesh hounds that are pre painted. Obviously, I will repaint them once my other squads are complete. The painting is decent on them, but I prefer blue skin color scheme and the satisfaction of painting it to my own style.

So I've been really busy lately getting everything set up. Chaos war hounds arrived on cavalry bases, but the painting is nice enough that I decided that I will only paint the 50 mm bases once my 20 cultists are finished. They are definitely a money saver compared to buying 5 flesh hounds for 40+ $.

Cultists are done. On to basecoating my marines. Drakshade Inked after a blue basecoat now going over areas light hits with base coat, 2 highlights wherever there are edgres then on to detailed pads and equipment.

Going to try to get some games in. Im going to the Bay Area Open, just for fun though and checking out the painted ones. Flesh hounds radiation type scheme re based, fur inked and re highlighted, with bone areas inked and whitened. Havocs are base coated and inked. For radiation effects, I'm saving the base painting for last. in experimenting on glow off armor on havocs. If it looks decent going to do effect on whole army.
