Subject: Selling price for genestealer hybrids?

Hi all.
Bit of a weird question, but I've been wondering about the prices of the genestealer hybrid models.
I see them on eBay for around £10 per model for the metal ones quite often, but I rarely see them sell.
I want to buy a unit of 10 to add to my old Tyranid army, but wanted to hear what people thought about the prices first.
The plastic ones don't look too bad, but trying to find ones that have not been killed by paint are impossible.
Also though about converting, but short of sculpting from a base, I have not seen any that look much like the originals.
Any ideas please?

£10 doesnt seem too outlandish in a world where sellers put exorbitant price tags on OOP minis, just because.
Have you checked completed and sold listings as that will give a better indication.
That said, It is down to your perception of value and worth as a buyer. What are you prepared to pay to satisfy your needs?

Yeah, they are expensive. I collected a few around five years ago, and even then they cost a small fortune. If you can find them cheap painted then snap them up quick, paint is easy to strip off. Major tom did some pretty good conversions for his Space Hulk project. Perhaps that would give you some ideas: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/284539.page

You can limit an Ebay search to completed, and more importantly, sold, listings. That'll give you a good idea of what they're going for.
Personally, they need to have proper genestealer arms, otherwise I won't bother even considering a listing. Those plastic arms seem to be much rarer than the actual metal models!
The two one-piece models (with autogun or autopistol) seem to be quite common, and have the advantage of not needing to go searching for arms.

Cheers guys, arms wise I have tons (around 60 or so) along with a ton of original weapons from a carboot sale lol.
Looking at previously sold, I can see the price is about right so I may just start with a unit of 10.
I have both the seated and running patriarch, all the magus sculpts and advisors/familiars.
So just need to bulk out the troops.
In regards to toms thread, I have that book marked from a while back.
Unfortunately his abilities with sculpting far outgo mine, so that stays as somewhat of a dream lol.

£7 to £10 a model is about right. Though, if the rumours of a revamped genestealer cult release is true, expect the price to comedown somewhat.,

There are some great lookalikes available

I wouldn't assume the price of second hand cultists will change a bit upon any rerelease, the market for them is solidly in nostalgia and a modern approach won't be the same.
