Did this piece for a local GW contest. I figured that to push a heavy ass cannon up a muddy hill, slats would be necessary to displace the weight and not have it sink. Also, I figured the artillery commander would want a table of charts and things to get his bearings and targeting. I made the diorama with patience, tenacity, wood chips, wall spackle, XPS, various sized talus etc. I learned the technique from the 3-T Studios tutorial on this website, figured I would try my hand at it (theirs are far superior to mine).

Agreed. Great storytelling, great attention to detail. If I were to have one criticism, it would be that if you look closely the bases just sitting on the dio (Rather than being sunk into slots) is slightly jarring, but only slightly. Really, that's just a nitpick, this piece is great!

Very well done! Carts/maps are stunning!
Complaint: bases are not sunken into the display, shame.

Love this diorama! I'd like to make something like this but seems a little out of reach for me right now (no time haha)
Empire is a great army and this is a nice piece for the display case!

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Thanks for all the comments. I am learning how to work the website better and provide better pictures. Also, 3-T studios has an article on here where I learned how to make this type of terrain check it out in the articles section of dakka dakka, it is informative and fun!
