There have been a few other discussions about the rules for a Goff Rokk Band, but no one seemed to be able to provide the original rules. I didn't want to revive an old thread.

This is from 'Ere We Go! (1991) -

Goffik Rok Band

All Orks enjoy loud noises - loud bangs and crashes stimulate the Ork's brain causing great exhilaration and excitement. Goffs are especially keen on loud noise - perhaps the constant head-butting contests affect their minds and give them an uncontrollable appetite for noise. The Goffik Rok Band consists of three Orks who carry threateningly loud Rok Guitars which they play to accompany the march of the Retinue. Their loud music gets any Goffs nearby really excited and worked-up. Any Goff within 12" of a Goffik Rok Band can fire twice in its turn if you want, although their accuracy is impaired by their manic enthusiasm if they do this - so deduct -1 from each dice roll to hit.

Points: Free

There doesn't appear to be any stats, so I assume you'd just use standard Boy stats. No weapons (other than the guitars).

So this doesn't really work in 7th Ed. Back in RT, you'd get one shot each, whereas Orks now have 2 shots anyway (Shoota = Assault 2), and there are no modifiers to BS now.

I'm going to work on some new rules for including Goff Rokkers, probably based on rules for Waaagh! Banners and the like. Watch this space...(but any ideas are welcome).

Okay, so what I'm thinking is some kind of stage, with the Rokkers on it and it basically acts as a big Waaagh! Banner. Based on that, these are my first thoughts.

Goff Rokkers (Heavy Support or Elite) 60pts
BS: -
F:11
S:11
R:10
HP: 3

Unit Type: Vehicle (Open-topped)
Unit Composition: 1 Goff Rokker Stage
Special Rules:
- Immobile
- Units within 12" are Fearless
- Units within 12" have +1 WS (not cumulative with other Waaagh! Banners)
Options: Grot Riggers - 20pts

The stats are based on a Looted Wagon, but I've dropped the base points to 20 due to it being Immobile. I've then added the points of a Waaagh! Banner (for +1 WS) and the points for a Big Bosspole (for Fearless), to get to 60pts. But because the unit is immobile, I've change the benefits of the Banner and Pole to effect units within 12" rather than the unit it's in (as obviously that wouldn't work).

I've not quite figured out deployment (due to Immobile) or the fact that the benefits are quickly lost as units move out of the deployment zone and out of the 12" area of effect. So, another option is to make it so it's not immobile, effectively making it a mobile Banner and Pole that can effect multiple units (those within 12"). It think that's worth about another 30pts (90pts total).

I'm picturing an RT battlewagon with the passenger area raised as a stage, then lots of speakers, cabling, banners etc.

I'd love to hear others' thoughts on how this would play

Just thought I'd poke this thread to try to get some activity. Can't believe there are no Orkists out there who would be interested in discussing this...

Frankly, since it is largely immobile, it isn't that good of an option. It basically turns Orks from a fast melee mob to something that is melee and defensive (fighting around a small area of the board) and in a game of power shooting, that just means Orks are going to get slaughtered.

It needs to mobile. Just take a look at the Doof from the new Mad Max movie for your inspiration:

Yes, that's what I started to feel too, hence thinking about making it mobile...

I've not seen Mad Max (yet!) but the pic you showed is pretty much what I was picturing, just built onto a RT Battlewagon chassis. But yeah, I think mobile has to be the way to go.

Just found this on BOLS. The inspiration is directly from Mad Max.

Possibly a bit large to be practical on the battlefield, but wins due to 'rule of cool'!
