Hi I'm new to this forum and a relapsing acrylic addict, I've managed to stay away from painting and modeling for fifteen years now, a few weeks ago I bought a box of chaos space marines. A few days after that I bought a load of paints, brushes and a good light. This weekend I invested in a compressor and an airbrush and yesterday I got some cork and sands from a hobby store - I've almost got my kit up to par now.

Anyways I painted some chaos marines yesterday and this is how they turned out;

Today I started on a aspiring champion and a cultist, trying to settle on a color scheme for the cultists that goes well together with the bright space marines was harder than I thought but now I'm thinking of bright blue and accents in dark purple for the cultists. I've put a couple of bids down for various units on ebay and hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a couple of hellbrutes before Christmas.

This is were I'm at at the moment;

Amazingly well done, I look forward to seeing more.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Very nicely done.

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Added some more details to the base, power lines in the pipes and did some highlighting on the armor and the power axe, tomorrow its time to highlight and shade the metal parts and do some cleanup on the armor.

Managed to get some painting done after school today, I had not really planned on doing any today but my gf didn't mind me painting on a Friday so... I added some grass to all the bases I've done, got some more shading and highlighting done on my aspiring champion and banged a couple of cultists out - I painted a bit to quickly on some of the cultists; since I'm doing five more tomorrow it doesn't really bother me right now. Once the whole unit is assembled, painted and presented as a whole, it will look alright and if it doesn't they are cheap to buy

I did a bit of terrain or a display board that matches the bases of my models to use have them stand on in my shelf. JUst glued a bunch of cork and sand on cardboard, painted and added grass. I'm going to hot glue it onto a piece of plywood and let it set under pressure to smooth it out and for added stability, might add snow to everything as well.

Nice. Really eye catching scheme you've got there and I really like the style of your bases.

I'm almost finished with the aspiring champion now, just some little stuff and cleanup to go. I finished the axe with some yellow to give it more pop, gave the horns a nice base fade from white through screaming skull to grey - I'm going to give them a wash and do some highlighting tomorrow. This is where I'm at right now.

Thanks for the comment I really appreciate them.

I fished the ac today, I decided to paint the head next to the bolter in flesh tones so that it looks like its been grafted to the armor.
