Recently I've not been able to spend ages on a model. I output about 8 hour character models which are good but not really pushing myself like 30 hour competition pieces in the past. I've been meaning to do one of those for a while but half way through the paint-job I just end up rushing a bit more.

This model I really want to take my time over so hopefully posting here with updates, and maybe some criticism to stop me cutting corners will help me to paint him the the best I can.

The model is this wizard from minx miniatures, and im following a scheme suggested to me, which is pitch darkness other than just the three firey orbs illuminating the model.

As I had a spare of this model missing an arm, I painted him up comparatively quickly in full lighting as a kind of sketch.

Admittedly the poor picture does hide how rough some of the blends are
