Hey all, decided to mock up Captain Sendini of the Blood Angels 5th Company "Daemonbanes"

I'm using bitz from about 3-5 kits. I've been looking for a Wargear list for him and personal heraldry / banners but came up empty, all I know is that he's captain of the 5th company. I've decided to give him the following ...

Artificer Armor
Iron Halo
Digital Weapons
Frag & Krak Grenades

I still haven't decided on weapons but I've mocked up the new Combo-Melta with BA artificer gloves (BA blood drop)

Parts I've used so far are Helmet / Front Armor / Iron Halo from the BA upgrade kit. Rear Caped Armor / Capt. BackPack / Front Belt Banner (forgot technical name lol) Modified DC Legs / 2 Modified DC arms (used DC infernus pistol left arm for both L&R arms due to the ornate elbow pads, just needed a little modding to convert a L to a R)

I plan on using DC hands as there is a blood drop on the gloves, as stated earlier I've mocked up a combi-melta for a possible option, looks great imho so far. As for Shoulder pads I still haven't decided but I'm 99% sure on using one of the BA upgrade kit pads for the left / chapter designation shoulder pad. I'm thinking of either using one of yhe two Eagled Shoulder pads from the Vanguard Vet kit. Suggestions would be great as to what captains usually use. I was also thinking of using a single blood dropped ornately designed right shoulder pad to designate that he's captain of the 5th company. I want all of my BAs to stay as close to the codex designations as possible, a true BA Army.

Here's a few pics of what I've done so far, like I said suggestions as to what Captains of the BA Army wear would be great. Modding is my fav part of the build, I plan on mocking up Capt. Sendini in Terminator armor also so he's ready if the need arises. Thanks for checking it out, I'll post more pics as I progress.

What would give me the strength to knock down a daemon? Being the "Daemonbanes" and all. I want him overpowered at any cost, I know he'll draw fire, etc (honour guard fodder) but I want him pure Hadassah like a Captain of a company should be. Off to do research ...

Yo!

Great call using the Vth Battle Company! Great start on your Captain Sendini as well. As for personal heraldry, and banners, none currently exist (as far as Blood Angels canon is concerned) for Captain Sendini and the 5th Battle Company, nor is there any wargear list for Captain Sendini either. It's sort of up to you how you want to arm and equip him. I'd go with one of the Blood Angels upgrade sprue left shoulders for the chapter emblem and as for the right shoulder, you can either find a cool pad with some unique heraldry to make work for your vision of the character, or you can do what I did and just display the Company Emblem on there. I went with a Polished Onyx style ornate gemstone look for the black teardrop shape on a red field. Either option will work great.

Obviously, I too have build ant painted up a Captain Sendini of my own. You've seen the thread, I know, but here's my version of the Captain who bears the title "keeper of the arsenal":

And here's an older picture showing the other side where you can see his right shoulder displaying the Company Emblem on it.

I armed him with Artificer Armor, a Jump Pack, the Crown Angelic (relic), Digital Weapons, an Iron Halo, Frag+Krak Grenades, a Hand Flamer, and The Valor's Edge (relic). I wanted him to be effective, and that combination of wargear, while not *amazing* compared to biker chapter masters with Shield Eternal and Thunder Hammers, he still holds up well and does a good amount of damage. He just has to pick and choose where he attacks so he doesn't wind up facing ST:8+ hits that can instant-death him. I also went with the hand flamer because it's unique, and kinda fitting for my own version of the Character. I've come to name my Captain Aedus Sendini, and Aedus means "fiery", so the Hand Flamer was the obvious choice to pair with Valor's Edge. Sure he may not kill much with it, but it's a fun weapon and keeps with the theme of the character, purging heretics and Daemons with cleansing flame.

Also, good call using that chest armor. I used it on my captain too as you can see. Great minds think alike.

As for your wargear list, he's obviously going to be on foot versus wearing a Jump Pack (perfectly fine option). The question you have to ask yourself is how is he going to deploy most games and what kind of unit is he going to be a part of? Is he going in an assaulty honor guard, or shooty honor guard with a few storm shields piling out of a Drop Pod?

If he's going to be choppy, then you can either go pistol + Valor's Edge for +1 attacks (Digital weapons work really well with Valor's Edge also, good call), or you can go with the combimelta as you have and pair it with a Relic Blade (since you won't be getting the bonus attack in hand to hand anyway) So your attacks will hit at ST:6 base, or ST:7 on the charge.

If you're going to build an Artificer Armor and Terminator Armor version of him then you can make the terminator version a little more shooty (Since he can't sweeping advance) and make the Artificer Armor version a little more choppy so he can run his foes down if and when he breaks them in melee.

Lots of build options you could go with. Just figure out what kind of role you want him to play and what squad he's normally going to be running with and that will help you kinda narrow down what sorts of weapons you want him to tote.

Hope that helps, and can't wait to see him painted up.

Take it easy.

You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.
