What should I take on remaining points. What to change? I played against necrons with similar list and got wiped out while only killing a few of their units.

Okay, I think it's a good list, but fluffwise, it's kinda broken.

In the rulebook, IIRC, Orks and Tau are "Come the apocalypse" allies. This means they would never ally, and if they did, they must deploy at least 12" from each other.

And I can't find anything in the ork codex about Tau and Orks allying.

May be different in the Tau codex though.

Sorry to nitpick. Orks list looks good though.

EDIT: Apparently, Orks and Tau are acutally deseprate allies.

I know that it isn`t very fluffy but I love both tau and orks and I think that tau are much more better at shooting than orks. What could you recomend me on remaining 90 points? Lootas? Drones? or maybe something else? How do you deal with necron wraiths?

I don't have the codex with me right now, but maybe you should take lootas.

The neat thing about Orks is that you can 'fluff' any sort of allies as them just being the Orks having looted that stuff and adopted new techniques, especially with a fully 'mechanized' list like this.

Those broadsides are just really up-tooled Killakanz with fancy targetin' systems and guns looted from da Fishies- and the Riptide is what happens when a Big Mech gets 'inspired' by a pile of looted Tau gubbinz when he's in the middle of building a Gorkanaut (or Morkanaut).

It'd be kind of a blast to model them, too.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

I know you've been messing around with a few formations,

I think a retaliation cadre might be a great pick up.

you can deepstrike everything, it comes in auto turn 2 and get +1 BS when doing so, so you don't need markerlights that turn to be viable.

your broadsides gain relentless so they can run around and shoot.

you can always deploy the units on the board and just deepstrike some fusion suits so it gives you deployment options.

Retaliation Cadre (Tau Empire) - 641 points

Commander - 180
Iridium armor, shield generator, stim injector, missile pod x2

Riptide - 190
EWO, IA, TL Plasma

Broadside x2 - 140
HYMP, SMS, EWO

Crisis Suit x1 -52
Fusion X2

Crisis suit x1 - 52
Fusion x2

Crisis suit x1 - 27
Flamer

The commander is basically a riptide with T5, he runs with the broadsides who can now move and shoot.

The riptide can nova his plasma and deepstrike within 12 inches getting 7 ap 2 shots (3 from IA, 4 from plasma) at BS4

the fusion suits can bust armor

the flamer suit can jump and contest on objective.

This gives you a very well rounded tau force, tons of str7/5 missile spam, AP2 shots, and melta.

I've been mulling running an Ork, Tau list myself for a while. It would appear that they should compliment each other quite well, the firepower of the tau with the mobility and close range punch of orks allowing for the best of both worlds.

Fluff wise, I was thinking something along the lines of an ethereal attempting a new approach to a fearsome enemy. Negotiating the hire of some freebootin' Ork pirates, understanding their lust for combat and booty, and showing them how the Greater Good can provide both.
The retaliation cadre, with its large suits, fits in the Ork head space of biggest is best, and the ethereal encourages that with subtle glyphs and paint jobs on the tau battlesuits, much to the disgust of the pilots.

Obviously it will eventually go horribly wrong for the ethereal, but for the time being there's this odd, mish mash of kunnin brutality and sophisticated weapons support. Storm Boyz aping tau armour and design, and riptides with green faceplates and tusks.

Fluff wise tau are always enlisting other alien races to fight for them. Why not orks? Blood axes are mercenarys as well. The allies table was just another way for GW to shaft orks.

I like odd combo's! I run Tau/daemons myself. This list looks like a lot of fun.
