Hi there,
So, I found a lot of tutorials on the Internet, but there is also the GW way written on the bow.

For example, for painting (GW's way):

the armour mephiston red, wild rider red, and carroburg crimson.

Gold icons: balthsar gold, agrax earthsade gehenna's gold

Crux terminatus: mechanicus standard grey, nuln oil, dawnstone.

Etc...

How did you painted your SH terminators and why ?
Thanks !

EDIT: I just noticed there isn't even a paint to higlight the armor listed by GW on the box ! So, according to GW, you don't higlight your terminators ? I think it shows how good is the GW tutorial, on this one...

I'm not at home at the moment as im on holiday but at the time of release there was an accompanying white dwarf with a tutorial.
I'll dig it out or find the issue number if no one else has in the next few days.

Edit: Please don't burgle me, I've got a big dog and she's probably very hungry by now.

Personally, I like the studio version, more or less -- I think they're pretty faithful to the way I imagine Blood Angels terminators.

Mephiston is the base color on mine, fire dragon Bright is the edge highlight, and Agrax Earthshade is what I use to shade the recesses (only).

Yep, thanks you for reminding me the tutorial in the WD, I have it and I found it !
It is, in deed, way better than just what is written on the box^^

I'll do them like this too, they are great looking, I agree.

Thanks !

Well, I've just got back into painting after many years out and starting to refresh myself with techiques etc.

I grabbed a set of Old metal terminators and set to work with coming up with a paint scheme that would work well, plus something I could scale up to work on dreads etc.

for the main armour I tend to use a two thirds blood red (from my old GW "Hexagonal bolter shell" paint pots) and 1 third gehenna gold. this gives the armour a rich sheen to it that is in keeping with the armour being rare/special/unobtainable...

Shading is with watered down Vallejo flesh tone ink and a bit of black ink here or there, then edge highlighted again with the gold and a fine drybrush of necron compound.

Emblems etc. are black - Yellow - gold highlight and flesh shade ink again or black, chainmail silver then gold and necron drybrushing. any red symbols are painted black and silver then treated to a top coat of "Blood for the blood god". Bone is painted white with very thin flesh tone and black ink mix, then drybrushed with white and coated in thin gloss varnish for the polished effect.

the only picture I've got is the WIP before I tidied it all up, but you can see how the armour is etc.

K.
