Hello Dakka,

Just got back into painting again after a few months break. I am loving the new theme for Tau. Please take a look at the below pictures and let me know what you think. Is it possible to make the scene look "realistic"? Let me know your thoughts

Can you clarify what you mean by "the scene"? Are you making a diorama?

Well for realsim some weathering or chipped paint work might be good, very few front line tanks are in factory condition in the field.
You could also add color to its thrusters and intake ports to give the impression they "are hot" and active.

That is actually my next step. I plan to edge highlight the red and black still, layer the red glass to make it shiny, blue to white glow effect on the thrusters and then dryad bark with a sponge to lightly dab on the model.

Tau always look plasticy, it probly would look more real if you dent it up dirty up type of thing. Other give it a shiny right of the line.

I need to go to work every day.
