Andy,
I hope these help. Unfortunately I am so close to my storage unit that terrain lives there and is not swiftly available, but fortunately it is close enough that I can get to it quickly!
However I always are materials to build terrain at hand!
Here are the parts to this formula:
The
GW bits are obvious but the gift card, at least that is what we call them in the states, is the odd bit. Its like a credit card, its the same plastic materials, but it hold a certain cash value only and it not attached to any credit organization or bank. So one of these could be valued at like $10, and once that $10 has been depleted you either throw these away, or reload them.
I found that Starbucks is a great resource as they often collect these cards to recycle, so going in and asking for a stack of "used and depleted cards" is pretty easy.
Here is more detail on the card:
As you can see it is the same plastic and thickness of a Credit Card, but it has no attached credit or bank system. The act like gift certificates.
Here is how I build these little piece of terrain:
Just makes a nice little foundation to hold the terrain objects. In this case I am using
GW terrain, but it the past I have used everything from Polymer clay sandbags to minifigs from other games and cash register tape roll inserts.
Here is an action shot:
I am repainting an Ebay bought Tau Army, and I am using a cellphone so the lighting is horrible. But the concept is what we are going for.
It is just a little, easily moved and placed modification for standard terrain. I will get some better pictures in the future and post em!
