Subject: Forge World Tynamo - Adeptus Mechanicus - 28/1/2016 - Onager completed!
Previous painting blog was starting to get laggy from the huge table of contents so needed to start a new one. The old one can be found here if anyone is interested. I was working on some Tau, but after some number crunching it ended up being significantly cheaper to just do Ad Mech, which is important when also trying to save for a wedding.
Anyway I'll be focusing this on the Ad Mech as I go, the main idea I had with this was trying to make an army with the image of the titan legion fights in Mechanicum which is the part I've liked best about the Skitarii for quite a while now; the idea of them sort of skittering around the feet of these huge war machines as they fight each other, so definitely need at least a knight for this too.

Forge World Tynamo Tynamo is located to the south east, near the boarder of the Ultima Segmentum and The Veiled Region. The primary colour of this forge world is blue to represent electricity.
Magos Electross Electross became the the Magos Prime of Tynamo in M39 after the previous was killed during the forge world's last explorator mission; chasing rumours of an apparent time machine the Men of Iron had apparently possessed based on some ancient corrupted footage they had found on an old data slate. The hope had been to find this machine to use it to retrieve a complete STC. Electross usually is found on the battlefield with his forces, preferring to investigate in person and at times deal with any opposition. However at times he can be too busy and absent, leaving a trusted Alpha in his place.
Timeline 162.M37 Explorator Fleet launched into The Veiled Region, chasing data collected from an ancient dataslate found on a dead ship drifting past the forge world. The data salvaged from the device showed footage of Men of Iron perhaps possessing a time machine with which the Magos hopes would allow them to collect a completed STC from ancient Mars.
827.M39 Contact with the explorator fleet had finally been reestablished after being lost for the previous 500 years, however all that is found is the primary vessel for the fleet the ship shows signs of a massive fight happening inside, as if raided by boarders but nothing is found on the ship besides the remains of the mostly mechanical Magos.

To start off I've already finished the Dominus, who has been named Magos Electross.
My strongest two colours when it comes to OSL and lenses has to be blue and green, so it was a bit different trying to do that in pink, but I thought the combination of it with the bright blue would look nice for this. And yeah it's an intentional misspelling of a pokemon name, but it helped with a quick jump to get to the name for this force's forge world; Tynamo.
Also I've got the Onager ready to work on. Generally I use resin bases for things, especially troops, over actually doing cork bases myself because of the durability. But I finally made my first cork base.

So far this Onager is making me think more and more of the tachikoma, if only the cannon was centered instead of off to the side.
Maybe the part that looks like 3 lenses at the top should be while.
I love the vibrant blue on the onager, very striking and fresh for AdMech in particular.
