Been wanting to do these for a while. Thanks to getting 75% off of a massive amount of Skaven models I finally started the project.

I ended up getting 60 Clan Rats, 60 Plague monks, 3 Storm Fiends, 2 Rat Ogres, and many other random models too.

Overall I won't use ALL of the Skaven for the army, since my theoretical army list only uses 6 units of 10 troops and some support.

The way that I actually got the idea was when I was using some Skaven models from the Island of Blood box that I got on ebay for $1 as conversions for Skitarii models in my actual Skitarii army........is it crazy that I'm going to have 2 effective Skitarii forces (1 skaven and 1 legit)?

I have also seen others suggest online for using Skaven as Dark Eldar or similar, but I felt like Skitarii makes sense too with the radiation rules and all of that. I'm still not sure what to proxy the Storm fiends as. Should they be "counts as" walkers? If I did Dark Eldar rules I suppose they would be Talos. They just look too good and too 40k not to use.

Here were some of the Skaven to Skitarii models I did a while ago that made me think to go the other route too and do some rat ones as a separate force.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

Nice, I bought up a couple boxes of vanguard and some stormvermin and have been trading the stuff I dont need from the skitarii for more special weapons for this very same project. I have tons of IOB skaven and the Skitarri arc weapons fit perfect for skaven in 40k.

Awesome stuff!

I envy you the ratogres and Stormfiends. I plan to find some cheap ones on ebay and use them as counts as mechanicum robots. Skaven are already known to be shapers of flesh, it is not a huge leap to make their 'mechanicus' a mixture of robotic and flesh melded together.

I really look forward to seeing your progress as you get everything put together!

Yes, they fit perfectly! All I really had to do was take a pair of Side Cutters to trim off the Skaven's shield arm, and then glue in the Skitarii armys. Sometimes I had to shorten the left arm a little, but generally just a straight fit after taking off the skaven arm.

Side Cutters my man, side cutters. I will post a pic of the clipped up ones when I can. You just trim off their left shield arm and call it a day. Couldn't be easier. The Island of Blood models work excellently for these conversions. And the IOB Rat Ogres are much better looking than the Multi-part kits too.
